Anyone here know of this gem of a game?

It's like a mix between Alan Wake+Silent Hill+Resident Evil+Shenmue+Hotel Dusk, all topped with a ridiculous amount of extremely awkward moments and bizarre stuff. Put a crazy schizophrenic main character that hears a voice in his head (actually the player, he talks to you all the time) and you got Deadly Premonition.

Now, what really makes this game awesome is that it... isn't. It's bad. Like the kind of bad that has flaws and unexploited potential, yet you can still find charming and appealing even in it's weaknesses. Then there's the added purposely bad part, it's like the game knows it isn't even trying and blatantly trolls you in your face, which honestly makes it all the funnier.

As for the gameplay, you have this huge (like, really huge) town in the mountains to explore (with collectible stuff and secondary missions and all that), and as a FBI agent you have to investigate a nasty murder that took place there, there are parts of exploring, driving, investigation, talking with people, crazy alternate-world parts a la Silent Hill, hideous stuff you have to shoot in a control scheme similar to that of RE, rpg elements (need to sleep, eat, and even do the laundry lol), fishing, quick action sequences (those where you have to press buttons and do stuff quickly) and more.

But it's still bad. But it's still awesome enough to deserve me making this thread about it.

If you can like a game despite it's flaws, or on the contrary you can't but you'd like to laugh at it, this is a game you should check out.

I've been really interested in this game after watching Tastudoshi play through it in his stream, and I'm really hoping to pick it up soon. Also, whistle song.

After watching Giant Bomb play the game through I bought a copy for myself a few months back and playted it all the way through myself.

Very great game, I have SWERY on twitter, and I'm hoping he makes a sequel. He's kind of talking about such a thing!

So yes, for 20 dollars, this game is amazing! Right Zach?

I've contemplated playing this, but all the bad things I've been hearing about it have been turning me off. Though it seems this is quite a polarizing game, so we'll see.

Got this game under a month ago, and my brother completed it. I've been a bit crazy trying to get the top record on banjo-tooie boss battles, so haven't played it that much. Definitely looks like a good game... despite the monkey-squirrels at the beginning and turkey-strawberryjam-cereal sandwiches. That was fun.
Anyway, I've only started the game, but looking forward to playing it some more.

Just completed it today. In the end I really enjoyed it overall, and even took it as true game instead of a joke; it had some awesome star moments and the plot&story where actually pretty good after all, which somehow made me feel a little thrown bat at the games of yesteryear where you where far more interested in the story than on shiny graphics.

Strongly recommended, despite it's many flaws and outdated gameplay it's a game you can't pass on for such a low price.

Seriously, go get it Zach.
