I actually really like this show. Loved it ever since I saw the pilot on CN's website (way before it premiered on TV). One of my favorite shows currently on CN other than Gumball and The Looney Tunes Show.

The two are totally different. There's more to a show than the randomness.

Boring...
The show is set in a world where now and the 80s are one. It stars a couple of twenty-something slackers who work at a park and end up getting into things including (but not limited to) causing havoc using a wizard's keyboard, rewriting history (literally...like with a pen), dimensional travel facilitated by spinning, fixing the fabric of reality, time travel, frat boy unicorns, and hyperbolic martial arts.

I guess I could...*kinda* see who you don't think it's funny...kinda, but it's anything but boring.

The things that happen in the show are great, sure, but the way the characters react to them make them seem blasé. Also, I don't understand why the characters are... the way they are. I could understand if they were all animals, but what the hell is Muscle Man? Why is one of them a living, walking gumball machine? There's no cohesion between them; it's randomness for randomness's sake. In Adventure Time there's an explanation. I haven't seen one here.

I don't hate the show, mind, it's just not my bag.

First of all, there really doesn't need to be an explanation because...it's a cartoon. Yeah, the fact that Adventure Time has an explanation as to why things are the way they are is cool, but it would be just as good if there wasn't one at all.

Second, I don't think the show is just random for the sake of it. It's just...the way things came out. It's not like it has that much of a function. They just happen to be what they are. Benson's just a gumball machine. It at least makes him the target of tongue-in-cheek balls jokes. Hi Five Ghost is just kinda there. No real reason. He just is.

I didn't really make myself clear. I think the plot and the characters don't go together. The strangeness that happens seems less strange by comparison because the world as it is "normally" is already pretty freaking strange. I'd like the show a lot more if the characters were human. At least all of them minus Mordecai, Rigby, and possibly Margaret.
