It's still more of our fault. We didn't just preorder an unreleased game, the sale was final. There was nothing to prove that Notch wouldn't take our money and run.

I don't think that he's trying to rip us off, he just doesn't know what he's doing. He seems to think that he can just add more features to a game and it will all just magically fit together. If Notch were to take his time and seriously think about how each new item or feature interacts with each other and really decides where it sits in the big picture, then Minecraft probably would have deserved those 9/10s.

What he needs to do now is change his focus away from all these little things that don't matter and put all of it on the big features like Adventure Mode and Capture the Flag. Those should have been finished ages ago and these past few months should have been spent polishing them for the 1.0 release.
