Tell me with a straight face this isn't stupid. Why, in all things decent, would you want to essentially teach teens that 'surgery will fix it'? It makes no sense. The only real scenario I can see where such a procedure would be okay, is if the person was extremely obese (more than 500 lbs) or if they had a glandular problem which can cause obesity. Otherwise, make the bloody kids lose the weight themselves. That has A LOT more advantages. You learn self control and healthier habits, if you do it though exercise you get in shape, and let's not forget the ecstatic sense of achievement you get from losing any weight at all. After losing weight yourself you feel more confident, and that is the way it should be done. This is coming from a guy who is more than 100 lbs overweight.
