All I can say is that with that much money, you'll definitely be able to build a good computer.

Well mine is not only older than your card is StarFox, but I also have higher wattage. Box says that it requires about 350W, so.

Edit: I just realized that I have a 250W power supply and that my video card requires 350W yet it's been running fine for years what in the ffffuuuuu

I've only had it for a week, dude. It was $40 and I jumped on it. I'm back to using my 8600. :1

also on the 9800GT -

Minimum Recommended System Power (W) 400 W

I can barely play games with it. It draws too much power...

Weird. They measured a peak of 212W when the box recommends 350W.

It's always safe to have 100W more than what is required. Always.

You also have to power your hard drive, DVD / CD drive, etc. at the same time. Maybe the voltage on the box is what is recommended to have, total?

Considering it says on the box, "This video card requires...".

Go with what it requires anyway. There's no harm in it. :1

I already am either way, haha. The confusion stemmed from how it was working on a 250W.

I think the box wattage is for total, not 100% for the card?

It wouldn't be able to tell how much wattage all my other parts would need. I'm assuming it's for the card alone.

Either way, it all works and I'm not complaining, haha. All I need to do now is wait for my CPU to get back in stock, and all those shiny parts will be mine. Here's to hoping there's not some unforeseen mistake or incompatibility.

Let's hope you don't have a 12-year-old motherboard.

Try to play some really graphically intense game. Put your system under pressure. Your computer only draws however much power it needs
