Hey, I used to check these forums back in the day right when Banjo-Tooie came out.

I was wondering if there is anyone still here who remembers how much people were arguing about the whole stop-n-swop thing. Then that guy (supposedly ex-Rareware employee) posted that huge thing about what had happened at Rare and why stop-n-swop never came to be, as well as the "Y-link" hardware idea.

Anyone remember that?

I vaguely remember something about an ex-Rare employee, but we pretty much figured out on our own that SnS wasn't possible. If he had talked about SnS, he most likely just confirmed what we already believed.

Lifetime NDA's etc. But yes stop n swap was put to rest in 2009 for good with the xbla release.

I remember some things from the RWP back in 2005-2006. Walrus, lamentofgrunty, the new layout.

Back in the day we'd get a number of people signing up to the forums claiming they worked for Rare and that stop n swop existed/didn't exist whatever they wanted. Didn't take long to prove them fakes.

There was one guy that claimed he was from rare so I emailed them asking and got a reply which was awesome as it was the first time I had spoken directly with someone from rare.

I do remember the y link hardware claim as well. That was also a pretty common theory.

I also remember when Gold and Gruntling were regular members (I actually remember Gruntling joining the forums

)

Club Joe interview about 64DD DK64 and BK - BT connection was revealed as fake stuff created by RWP member slaphappy.

I was hoping you were still around. That guy was me. TheMessenger right? I was like 14. I used to love surfing these forums, and I thought an extensive hoax would spice things up.

Then that other guy straight-up copied me and put it on GameFAQs; I was pissed. I got some emails from people who believed me and it was like I was their prophet, good times. I think someone asked me about the Rareware building being made of bricks or something and I got it wrong so they knew.

I wish I had that post in a word doc somewhere.

I'm pretty sure I registered under a different account in 2008-2009. I can't really remember if I did or not, but I didn't really post around a lot. I just joined the site and kind of... left after that.

I'm starting to wish that I joined back in 2005-2006, and stayed active until this very day.

2004 was best year in Banjo fun. In August, Club Joe posted a infamous interview which "revealed" fate of BK-BT connection. After days, it was revealed as fake thing. In late September i have found "Bottles Revenge Found" news at RWP. First time i didn't believe in it because of Club Joe interview but i decided to use GS code and check. It was so great. And Rare started to mention "Stop 'n' Swap" just AFTER discovery of Bottles' Revenge.

Next good times was in 2006 when i joined RWP forum and Team SFS lead by Hylian1. A lot of researching and good articles!

In 2008 i became a little idiot who posted too much fantasy in theories.

After release of Banjo-Tooie XBLA, my idiot things end and i back to normal posting.

I still do believe that not everything is found and revealed, but it isn't something like secret level. And by researching, i have a lot of fun in old games! Don't expect threads about it. If you're interesting about my researching - visit my blog.
