Burning bridges
Has there ever been a case in your life where you just get fed up with someone or some situation, having let the resentment build day after day, and then finally, drained of patience, or maybe out of self-respect, you just stormed away from it with an epic "**** you?" Whether from a job or a relationship or whatever, share stories of when you have, or even just have wanted to ^^
My employer called me the other day telling me I've been terminated from my position. How it happened isn't important - actually, I was rather hoping for it anyway. But thinking about it reminded me of my first job - one I really hated, which payed poorly, and was disproportionately demanding (and demeaning). Although I'd been in a relationship with the same person for two years at the time, we still barely ever had the chance to visit each other, because we lived such a great distance apart. One day we were having a very special and wonderful date together, when in the middle of it my boss called demanding to know why I wasn't at work - apparently I had been scheduled that day, but through some mishap, was never made aware. At that point there was *no* way I was going to cancel everything just to show up to that horrid place, yet I knew having a no-show almost guaranteed my being fired. So, on the phone right then and there, I told him I quit, hung up, and continued having a wonderful rest of the evening with my love ^^ I've never once regretted quitting that day. It's certainly an empowering, liberating thing to do, if you're brave enough to challenge the risks!

I don't tend to burn bridges actually. I've never particularly been wronged by anyone and don't wrong other people. I can only think of one person who hates me (which is utterly unfounded) and I don't actually hate anyone particularly. I don't know if I'll ever do so either, but more power to you.

I've never really burned a bridge in my life with someone, but do me wrong or put me in a situation where someone does something horrible to me, and I'll do it.

I've burned a ton of bridges. Some were good, some not so good. I regret burning entirely every single bridge I've had with girls so far. I've also took a huge risk in my future that has made me a happy person. I guess RWP is one of those bridges that is barely hanging on, since so much is going on these days.

Living in a small town and going to a small school, burning bridges is kind of tough to pull off for me. I have a feeling there'll be a Verrazano Inferno at grad doe. ^^'

Yes. Burning bridges is something that I feel myself needing to do now more than ever - and it feels even better to see it smoulder afterwards.

Ive burned a few bridges before, one of them being a really good friend of mine which I regret deeply but, it was all his fault.
I also quit in a huge rage once, I enjoyed it emensly creating this huge embarrassing scene for my old boss. He was an ass who thought I was 17 and still in highschool, I was 20 at the time and just accepted my letter to Edith Cowan University. I mind ****ed him good lol. |

when i am not alone i sever silent memories; building bridges with meaningless words, but only feel the distance further. remember being happy in our silence?
i wish you were with me tonight.

I used to be friends with this guy but he was kind of a dick, we kept falling out and arguing and shit. One day I broke his nose twice. I guess you could consider that a burned bridge.

More like a broken bridge. But I still very much approve.
