Minecraft - Castrovalva v5

I think Quantum has about the finished the catacombs under the city, which is under the sewer system. There are some amazing areas to find, and one very funny little room you may find if your very lucky.

There are over 20 chests within the city area for you to find that contain various items. They are automatically refilled after a set time, but they don't all refill at the same time. The refill time will remain a secret, although there may be a global announcment when a chest is refilled such as 'The Chest TreasurePower has been refilled'. Once I add all the messages.

I cant do anymore until 1.3 is released, then I can setup worldguard and start moving in peoples build sites. Expect the server to be offline for a day or two. Probably lots of restarts also at first, as I have to delete the land around the city and have it render with 1.3. Then there will no doubt be a lot of world editing to blend in the city edges to whatever land is in the area.

The plan was to copy and paste the city into a 1.3 world, but world edit cant handle such a large area. It wont make any difference, except for all the extra work to smooth out any jagged joins in the surrounding area. If I'm really lucky there will be a lot of water surrounding the city, or at least some reasonable flat land. Mountains are going to be a lot of work.

Items the shop sells will get a little more expensive, although the buy price for your items will have very little change.

Has anyone ever discovered what the name 'Castrovalva' refers too? With version 3 of the city the name is very appropriate now.

I've still got a couple things left in there I need to touch up and expand a bit, but all of the actually platforming parts of it are done for now. I'm a bit burnt out right now as I spent probably close to 30-40 hours on everything, so I may not be back at that for a couple days.
And while I don't like commenting much on some of the stuff to be found, fans of the Banjo Kazooie games will have some things to look forward to, as well, if they search REAL hard, and in the least expecting places.

All of the city houses have been transfered to the new city, no problems with chest contents.

Next steps to complete are;
  • Regenerate the area around the city with the 1.3 release.
  • Edit the terrain to blend the city edges into the world
  • Setup worldguard for the city and city houses
  • Transfer test server to the host for everyone to access



Your build projects can then be put in a location of your choice. If there is going to be a problem with chest items transferring, this is where it will happen.

The regeneration and terrain editing around the city will take several days to complete.

Nothing more to do now until 1.3 is released.

I'll be taking the current world offline on the 1st, I have to update some plugins, remove the live map, rollback protection data, delete old users etc.

Btw, we're going to save the creations in the Pirate Bay, right? It would be fun to get to do that competition someday. : )

It wasn't on your list and I forgot about it, but I will get a copy.

The live map is offline now and wont be back on till after the upgrade, I need to delete all the data files for the map.

A complete backup of the world has been made, any changes you do will of course not be included in the backup.

Still time to submit co-ords for anything else to be saved.

Your lucky I haven't deleted the map yet, I'll start the server again and you can get the Co-ords, or just tell me the general area if the server is not up when you read this.
