Smile Dance Dance Dance...

I'm sure you've all heard of the game Dance Dance Revolution one way or the other. If not at an arcade, I'm sure someone has mentioned it too you or you've seen it on a show. If not it is a game that plays songs, and you hit 4 arrows as they overlap other arrows...in a dance type manner.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about its like this

www.flashflashrevolution.com

Except instead of just pressing buttons, you stomp them with your feet.

Has anyone PLAYED this game and can't lose their addiction to it?! I've played it up the mall with some friends a couple times, in which I sucked terribly bad, and realized that my addiction grew so out of control that my quarter supply could no longer feed the machine.

So instead my bill supply picked up DDR: Max 2 at the store, full with pad, for Playstation 2.

And although its killing my cardiovascular system and my legs I've committed over 7 hours straight in to it today with very few breaks in between. I can see this becoming a very painful addiction.

Anyone else have some sort of extreme craving for a round or two of this game everyday?

Well... I don't play DDR, but my friend Ciara loves it. I played it once... and sucked big time. She's great at it, though.

I LOVE this game. It one of three things that keep me sane.

Up, Down, Left, Left, Down-Left, Up-Down, Right, Left, Right-Left, Up, Up, Right, Up-Down, Down, Up-Right, Right, Up, Up.

That's the way to play the game.

Break it Down!

Not that dance game in the arcade! Oh god don't remind me of that... All my friends rock at it but i am undeniably crap at it.

But then again i do have real dancing, you should try it sometime, its amazingly realistic.

Is, if those are fourth notes the game keeps you sane. If they are 8th notes it drives you insane .

Nope, I've never tried it, and I never will,
1) because I know I will suck, and
2) because I now know that it will suck up all of my coins like a vacuum, if it is as addictive as you say.

Yes, but thats why I bought it for PS2, so i don't have to pay for it every game. You CAN just get the actual thing. Of course, then it is 60$ for the game and 1 pad, but I was bound to pay out 60$ in quarters anyway, so it was a wise investment =P.

I love this game and I rule on it. o.o; The music is great...and it's really fun!!! I can do level 8 heavies! ^___^ My brother is even better than me though...he's on level 10 heavies. No better way to waste $10 than on DDR during the summer on the old boardwalk.

Has anyone seen any of those little things you might hook up to a PS2, and it look like the top of an arcade game? I think this is kind of on topic.

Smile

I'm going to tirade for a moment. Bare with me.

For Christmas I received DDR Extreme 2 as a gift. Unfortunately, it came with a soft pad that I had absolutely no use for. Because of this minor discrepancy, I returned the game to EB in exchange for a $60 gift card. I figured they would have a copy of the game by itself for $40, allowing me to purchase something else with the additional twenty. Instead it turns out they were pre-ordered all the way through until March.

%$@#B^#4.

All is well though as I picked up my copy last week. I just now unlocked PARANOiA Survivor Max through Mission Mode and was so ecstatic that I decided to post it even though I knew that many of you would have no idea what in the world I was rambling about.

So has anyone else grabbed a copy yet? Any thoughts on it or any of the other games for that matter since it's been awhile?

I'm not going to lie: I'm actually really mediocre when it comes to DDR. This is extremely bad, especially when most people say "Hey Matt, you're half Japanese. You must be awesome at DDR." This is not actually the case and often leads to awkward situations when I lose to...just about everyone.

I suppose with practice I could get better, but I've never really gotten to big into the craze to warrant it. DDR is still pretty awesome overall though...

Hi, I'm Banjo-Fella - and I'm a rhythm-dance game addict. There, I said it. Not that I want to recover, mind.

So, yes. I'm entirely addicted to Pump It Up, which is quite similar to DDR. I'd be hooked on the latter too, if we actually had a machine nearby.

Although it's $120...my wallet may start crying.

The only DDR game I've ever played is the Mario one for Gamecube. I got it for Christmas and started playing it, I wasn't that good to begin with but I've got better, on the harder difficulties it's fun but I don't play it much now. It's an alright game but I've never been a huge fan of dancing games.
