Yes, but: gamers dont like change. We like the same controllers were used to, we like the same types of games were used to, we like the same systems were used to. Either the wii will become #3 like the gamecube, or it wont. Either way it dosent matter to me because im not buying one. And no, i dont hate nintendo, i just never play my gcn so theres no point in getting a wii.

Why were analogue sticks embraced after the SNES/Genesis? Why is it that, at this year's Electronics Entertainment Exposition crowds of people surged past the Sony booth to cause record breaking lines at the Nintendo one? If gamers didn't like change we'd still be playing Pong, "misguided" certainly seems accurate to me. Quote:

You just got GREY JINJOWND! Anyway. Look at gaming history. What do you see?
It goes like this: Trak Ball (Atari) Joy Stick (Atari) Various controllers like the steering wheel (I don't know who) The NES controller (Nintendo) N64 controller (Yes. Nintendo made the Analog stick. Not Sony. Live with it.) The Wavebird (The 1st DECENT wireless controller. Not the 1st.) The Wiimote (Nintendo.) 6 degree's of freedom (Was put into PC controllers YEARS before.) Notice how Sony is not on the list. That is all.

Well, the PS3 might come out b4 the Wii, and according to your logic, then Sony invented the WiiMote (six degrees of freedom or whatever)

[rad_img]http://www.retrogames.co.uk/stock/assets/images/Mach_-_Playstation_Controller_-_original.jpg[/rad_img] By the time Sony actually did add the dual analog sticks, they weren't on by default anyway, and most games just used the D-Pad by default, with the user having to make a consious decision to press a button to turn on the analog sticks. Very convenient, thoughtful and innovative ![]()

SEGA even had it before Sony did as did Nintendo. Also Nintendo didn't invent the analogue stick either, Atari did with the 5200 controller. Know your history kids! ![]()
