Halo 2
Well the first Halo rocked. There's no doubt about that. And this one was supposed to come out in early 2004 (you can tell I don't own an Xbox otherwise I would know) so it should be extra-good. Xbox's sales will definetly rocket during this time. Meaing the GC's going down again. So exactly does anyone know about this game?

I don't think that there is very much info out about it. Probably the standard stuff. Better graphics, better A.I., etc...
I dunno. I don't keep up with FPSs since they aren't really my thing. <_< I just hope they make the driving parts better or at least don't have any parts where you are timed. I never actually beat Halo because of that last part with the driving. I just hated that part. Last edited by John; 15th February 2004 at 02:40 AM. |

man that was one of the most fun part of the game!!!
especially if you were playing it in co-op mode. Yeah i beat the entire game on legendary. Sorry but there really isn't much information on Halo 2. The story i am pretty sure of.. is the covenant takes over earth. Here is the trailor thingy actually it is not a trailor but a piece of the game i think. halo 2 thing I think it is supposed to release in fall 2004.

I agree I personally loved the driving part and even the banshee...however I think the machines needed a tad more weaponry. While driving is great, without multiple players you had almost ZERO offense. Of course the warthog WAS a good instant-kill even on legendary if you ran over enemies.
Halo 1 was awesome, but it seemed rushed and like they were just trying to experiment with X-box's power. However oppose to Gamecube equivalents of power display such as Luigi's Mansion, Halo was a terrific game. Now that the developement team has had an extended amount of time to work on the game, better understanding of how to write its engine, and more effects and features, I expect Halo 2 to be off the charts. Of course it could always be a money making scheme by a slow developemental team that completely sucks. . |

I read a rumor somewhere (wish I remembered where - damn) that Bungie is taking C
Well, not that I care, because I have no one to play with, but I think some people might not like that too much. ![]() Isn't Halo 2 supposed to be Xbox Live compatible, though?

Yeah it was SUPPOSE to be. However I don't have X-box live, nor do I plan to get it anytime soon, so I really don't care if it is or not and I just wish they'd hurry up and release it
.All I know is they better not have taken co-op out, because I use to play the actual game with people all the time. Sure with two people there were a million stage gaps that you could skip by jumping on each other's heads and using grenades to propel yourself...but hey, structure the stages a little higher this time . |

I rarely played with other people co-op, but it was fun when I did. Split screens are kind of distracting though. I could do without it I guess.
Online gaming doesn't really appeal to me for some reason. |

I've heard rumors that when the H2 comes out on PC, people who own the Xbox version will be able to play online with people who own the PC version. That'll be cool.
My friend and I were talking about that the ultimate function would be a Co-op with more than just two people, plus a mode were you could play co-op with people online. And personally I think the controlls for the vehicles were extremely annoying. It was like trying to do some of those PS1 racing games that you buy in the bargain bin for five bucks.

Yeah that would be cool to be able to play co op online, but i don't think they should have anymore than 4 people, which i think is too much. I think the whole game is fine the way it is. All it needs is more levels, which they are making of course, newer guns, which they are making, and this cool new mode that i think they should make.
I know this is impossible, but they should make a campaign editor like in starcraft. You know like make a use map settings mission and place like a maximum of like 6 hunters throughout the level, 20 elite, 15 jackal guys, and like 25 grunts, just to make sure we don't make them impossible. Or they could at least let us make a level. This would be so cool i would play this game for at least a decade, like many starcraft players are going to do(actually probably like 150).

The most irritating tidbit in my opinion was the repetition of the corridors. Most of the stages seemed like the same freakin thing repeating over and over and over with different enemy placement. Then when you felt as though the long looping was as terrible as it could possibly get...you found out that the end of the game is the beginning of the game backwards. WTF?!
However I'm sure thats another side effect of time restrictions placed on the first Halo. The second one should be MUCH more original...and from the trailers I've seen so far it definitely is. |

I agree about the repetitiveness. That level where you have to follow that robot thing has to be the worst for going through rooms that look exactly the same.
IMO, the game started going downhill after the flood was revealed. It was cool right before it when everything silent and you were coming across traces of something horrible, but by the time you got to the culprit it was underwhelming. Swarms of mutant jellyfish and plant zombies are hardly threatening in appearance. By the end I just didn't care anymore. I still have high expectations for Halo 2 though. Not to mention the fact that the end of the game was pretty much the beginning of the game backwards. The one level is "Assault On The Control Room" backwards, and "The Maw" is just the intro level backwards. So not only was the entire game repetitive in the first place, but they looped the repeating levels!
