GBTG Tepid Seat

I saw on the main site that Rare had put up their tepid seat on GBTG, so I went and checked it out. I had sent an email to them when they were first asking for emails (obviously). I had asked about the guitar solo in "Ballroom Disco"... lo and behold, my email got in Even though I learned that Grant does play the guitar (good old GE007 theme ), I still got a pretty interesting response where he mentions what he played it on...

Q17: My question for the tepid seat, more specifically, the Ghoulies composer, is about that nifty guitar solo in the "Ballroom Disco" track. If I'm right in assuming that was live (I don't think an electric guitar would sound that good under something like the general MIDI limitations), that was some pretty good... err... playing, there. Is Grant himself responsible for that, or did you guys bring in some random goon off the street? (Void Jay)

A: Aaaah… the Ballroom guitar solo… guilty I'm afraid. Yes, it was played live. Just in case you're interested, the rhythm part was played using a Fender Strat and the solo was on my Les Paul Standard through a line6 Flextone 2 XL. I'm afraid my Heavy Metal roots are showing through, I just thought it'd be a laugh to get a bit of rock in there amongst those Ghastly Ghoulies!
Interestingly enough, about a month ago I did some digging and I learned that Kirkhope was in a rock band

Edit: Well, there was a pic on Rare Extreme with Grant, and I assume that this was the Fender Strat he was talking about

Mr Pants got one in too, another good question. My favorite response was about the "beta" room, where they would have all the unused characters mumbling about how they were disappointed to not be there in the museum.

Have we influenced Rare, with all of our beta explorations? Must be.

Very interesting to think about.
That Museum thing would have been great (more if it was a hard-to-get unlockable). I like it when they put this stuff in hidden deep in the game, but nothing beats hacking (or modding the Xbox) and getting info. It's more interesting when you walk around parts of the game where you shouldn't be.

It seems now SnS is the in-joke of the Banjo Team. Arrg, it's so teasing, yet so funny. I'd also like if the team made games with ACTUAL REAL unlockable secrets.
