After hearing about God of War: Chains of Olympus, and seeing the impressive graphics on the psp, i've decided to get one. Only because i love god of war nearly as much as I love banjo-kazooie. And for the grand theft auto games. And for daxter. And for the built in mp3 feature. And for the dvds. And i don't know why i haven't bought one sooner.

Well, I see your reasons, so I'd sa, yeah. Even though I think it's icky, you seem to like everything about it. You like the serises, features, the whole sha-psp. Now, for the real question: Whats holding you back if there are so many things you want from it? Because this was "I'm thinking to get one", but then you pretty much answered your own question by saying so many good things about it and "actually, I'm not sure why I havn't gotten one sooner". So whats holding you back from getting that... thing?

Just buy a pre-owned psp on ebay.
I'd wait until GoW is out before buying one though.

The PSP is nice, but the only way to full enjoy it is to homebrew it so you can play PSX isos and GBA Roms ( also hopefully eventually N64 Roms as well they are still rather slow on the Psp but its possible )

The PSP is shiny, sexy and nice to look at. the only problem is that, it has no games. Heres a short list of all the games your gonna buy. Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, God of War, Valkarie Profile, Daxter, Crisis Core: FFVII, Ratchet Clank and a few others.

Sony used to be the Top dog in the Video Game industry PSX + PS2 kickass ( i love Nintendo, and Mircosoft not my favorite but i enjoy them ) but they have really lost it. The PS2 had by far a larger selection of great games, then xbox and gamecube did, but the tables have turned on them now.

(reflecting back now) id choice the DS over my PSP. the PSP is still a nice machine, just has a selected library of games.

Ugh, i have a DS, i use it for playing gba games when my gba batteries are low. In my opinion it's the ds that has no good games. When i go out to buy a random ds game, i have a hard time buying one because there isn't much to choose from. You have to go through the gimmicky games, the ones that overuse the touch pad, the puzzle games (brain age, tetris, etc.) the plain old crappy games (King kong ds anyone?) about 40 mario games, just to find a good game. Is there even any original series on the ds? At least with the psp you have dvds, mp3's and games so if you get bored with a game you can just listen to some music. Plus it's oh so shiny.

Might want to wait on getting a PSP for a little while, just in case the speculation about the new redesigned model is true.

PSP is ok as long as you get the right games for it. It ends up giving you a headache though if you play to long in a car on a dirt rode

If I bought a PSP, i'd use it for scraping dog turd off my shoe.
I've never liked the PSP. Sure, it "looks good" and can play UMDs (Not DVDs), but as an actual handheld games console it has about as many good games as a calculator and is as much fun as cutting your toenails.

Actually it's been confirmed by sony, and that's what tempted me to buy one. I can't beleive it's only 170 dollars, I remember when it was 300. Stick with your DS. PSP has been out for 3 years and there is only 10 good games. You could buy almost a Wii for the money or something else. Well I don't know how much a Wii cost where you live but here in Sweden it almost cost as much as a PSP.

If you still want to buy one you should wait for the redesigned one.

Have you not been reading this thread? I am waiting for the redesigned one. I don't want a wii, none of the games appeal to me. Plus, with the psp i can use it for an mp3 player, which i need. And i could play banjo-kazooie on the go. And yes, i know it's slow on the psp but i've seen some bk psp emulation videos and honestly it's not that bad. Maybe 10 less fps, tops.

By the way, i've had my ds for 2 years and i only own 6 games. One of them, i won't mention which game (KING KONG DS, THE WORST GAME EVER) I hate. Two others have horrible quality sound and graphics. So i'm happy with "10 good games".
