Biography
The Queen of the Thirteenth Age, though blessed with kindness, was fated to take the throne for but a few years before her body succumbed to the ravage of illness. In her brief reign she was credited with many good deeds, the most noble which saw her venture out alone in a snowstorm. Whilst attending a summit in a tribal village, the Queen overheard the distressed mutterings of the child's family and would hear no argument-she braved the ravaging weather with her Elemental Warriors and returned triumphantly with the child held safe in her arms. In gratitude, the villagers revealed to her a long-held secret... an Elemental Sprite which they had safeguarded through the generations. This sprite was, in fact, 40 Below-the warrior whose magic kept the ice at bay in spring and ensured a cleansing winter. [1]
History and Development
In the Game
40 Below is primarily used to knock away Queen Thyra's eyeballs, but will also be used to travel along the icy pathways of Snow Top Village. He is rescued from a Shadow Troll after the Fire Elemental Shrine is defended.
Abilities
- Frostbite - 40 Below shares his icy cold breath with his enemies by using the right trigger.
- Snowball - 40 Below materializes a large, spiky snowball with the left and right triggers.
- Wrecker Ball - While holding a snowball, 40 Below spins rapidly, crashing into enemies when the right trigger is pulled.
- Snow Blower - Holding the left trigger causes 40 Below to unleash a frenzy of smaller snowballs at his foes.
- Snow Roller - 40 Below releases his held snowball with the left trigger to bowl over opponents.
- Icequake - 40 Below slams his held snowball into the ground with the left and right triggers.
Trivia
- Other versions of the game list 40 Below as "Zero D."
- 40 Below seems rather clumsy and oafish in contrast with the other Warriors.
- From his in-game info, it can be assumed that 40 Below was found in Snow Top Village. This is supported by his frequent mentions by village children.
- 40 Below was one of the five Warriors condemned to the Shadow Realm by Theena along with Thorn's Troll Lords.
