April Fools' Day 2006

The Rare Witch Project April Fools' Day 2006 prank was a week-long, well-planned trick which left everyone fooled. Perhaps one of its greatest strengths was that it started one week before April Fools', giving people no real reason to question the legitimacy of the events.

Step 1
Approx. Date: March 24th - March 28. (See individual join dates below)
Step 1 was the hidden one. This was the step that all of the people in the know made the fake account. These people were to act like normal people until the prank came. Then, they would become the ones people would hate. They were:
- Banjo’s Banjo – Solitaire (23rd March 2006)
- Mandy – Wendy Turnips (24th March 2006)
- Icy Guy – GSHackerDude (Originally registered 18th August 2004. Apparently brought back for only one post.)
- R Hunter – Silent Asassian (24th March 2006)
- Kaz da Breegull – HyperShadow666 (24th March 2006)
- Ice Mario – Brokeback Dan (28th March 2006)
- Gruntling – Ignis Fattus (25th March 2006)
- Grey Jinjo - Hi. I'm Controversey (24th March 2006)
Step 2
Approx. Date: March 25th?
Step 2 was to make a fake forum about SNS. This was intentionally left long enough out visible for people to see and discuss (which led to Grey deleting the discussion threads). The rest of this will be explained later.
Step 3
Approx. Date: March 26th
Step three was getting lament into the fray. Grey brought the old lamentofgrunty back from the banned section and made him a super mod. He then proceeded to unlock, lock, and delete threads as lament. Soon after, the account mentioned in Step 1 (well, most of them) joined the alliance that Grey made as lament. The real lament came here, in distress becasue it was a ciminal offense to do what that guy is doing.
Step 4
Approx. Date: March 31/April 1st?
Step 4 was making lament an admin. Grey made lament an admin, banned Hakey, and cause some more havoc. The other admins pretneded that they couldn't use their CP, and the whole forums went into panic. People were in so much distress that one member, shanjo, actually joined the alliance without a joke or a prank.
Step 5
Approx. Date: April 1st (April Fool's Day)
"Hi, I'm Controversy." Grey made it so this guy wasn't like by any. So, naturally, he made lament make HIC and admin. HIC had a twist of fate, and made got rid of lament, made everything back to normal, and exposed the SNS forum that was mentioned Step 2.
Step 6
Approx. Date: April 1st (April Fool's Day)
Controversy opened the hidden SNS fourm. The forum was only open to few and was supposed to be used as a beta forum when the staff actually did release the false method to unlock SNS. When this was opened, everyone immedeatly belived it. They bought Gamesharks and bought N64s. Since this was opened on April Fools, you might think that everyone would think it was a joke. Well, they would have, if it wasn't for the Scapeogoat.
Scapegoat
Ice Mario had made an intentionally easy April Fools joke about Banjo DS. This was belived to be the April Fools joke, and no one thought that there would be two. So, it seemed ordinary.
Step 7
Approx. Date: April 1st (April Fool's Day)
The ending. The grand finale. Grey got P.o.t.O to make a topic where he said that he was lament hacking the whole thing (at the time, no one knew). Everyone got mad at P.o.t.O, and Grey banned him. Then everyone was sad. A certain Minjo even requested his ip because P.o.t.O threatened RIDDLE. After that, Grey explained everything was a joke. The whole froum collapsed in disbelif. P.o.t.O's part of the prank is very strange. He was able to sculpt his part to make it creepily similar to the story he named himself after (Phantom of the Opera). What with the unattainable goal and the insane genius/hacker. Not to mention, both P.o.t.O. and the original Phantom of the Opera commited suicide (one actually killed himself, the other intentionally got themself banned themself from the forum. [Account Suicide]) The Real Lament was allowed back into the forums.
