Banana Bunch Coins (sometimes just Banana Coins) are collectible items in the Donkey Kong series.

Description
Banana Coins are large golden coins with bananas engraved on them. They also come in a few different colors. They are the main currency used by the Kongs of Donkey Kong Island.
In the Games
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Banana Bunch Coins are found hidden around the levels. Diddy and Dixie Kong can use trade them for the ability to save their progress at Wrinkly Kong's Kong Kollege, purchase hints from Cranky and Wrinkly Kong, participate in Swanky Kong's game show, and hire a plane from Funky Kong to transport them to previously-visited areas of Crocodile Isle.
Donkey Kong 64
In Donkey Kong 64, Banana Bunch Coins are once again found around the levels. This time, each playable Kong has their own specific color of coin that can only be collected and used by them: yellow for Donkey Kong, red for Diddy Kong, purple for Tiny Kong, blue for Lanky Kong, and green for Chunky Kong. The coins are used to by potions from Cranky Kong that grant new moves, weapons and upgrades thereof from Funky Kong, and musical instruments/upgrades from Candy Kong.
Donkey Kong Country Returns
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the coins now only have a single banana on them. These Banana Coins are used to buy helpful items from Cranky Kong at various shops around Donkey Kong Island, including extra lives and health upgrades.
