The Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts X06 Teaser Trailer was used to announce the third main installment of the Banjo series at Microsoft's X06 expo on September 27, 2006. The trailer was created by a studio called Rhythm & Hues. It features Banjo and Kazooie trying to get through a mysterious locked door as a large omnipotent pencil attempts to stop them. It also introduces new, updated character designs for the duo.
Description
The trailer begins with a pencil drawing the Rare "R" logo. Banjo walks onscreen as the pencil draws a living room around him. Banjo continues walking, observing the room around him as the pencil draws a door in his path, which startles him and Kazooie. Banjo knocks on the door and tries the knob, at which point the pencil writes "SECRET! KEEP OUT!" on the door, aggravating Banjo. He looks through the door's peephole, but the pencil brings down a screen in front of it saying "WE REALLY MEAN IT!" After a moment of thought Banjo grabs Kazooie by the neck, pulls her out the backpack and attempts to use her as a lockpick. He unlocks the door, but finds it still won't open. When he looks up, he sees the pencil is pushing on the door to keep him from opening it. He drops Kazooie, and, aggravated further, growls at the pencil as it draws boards, locks and a "GO AWAY!" sign on the door. Kazooie thinks and comes up with an idea, whispering it to Banjo. Cut to a few moments later, Banjo has Kazooie in-hand again and pulls on her tail feathers to rev her head up like a chainsaw. He cuts through the wall around the door, at which point the entire wall except the door falls down on the ground outside. Banjo and Kazooie excitedly peer out and see an updated Spiral Mountain with a Jiggy, Musical Note, and Honeycomb. Banjo runs toward Spiral Mountain and crashes -- it's just a cardboard prop which falls down onto him and reveals the words "BANJO IS BACK!" on a wall behind it as Banjo and Kazooie make pained noises.
