Blast Corps is a Nintendo 64 game developed by Rare and published in 1997.
Story
Blast Corps is part action game, part racing game, and part puzzle game, in which a badly-damaged missile carrier has automatically locked onto the most direct route to a safe detonation site. The first problem is that said route will take the carrier through several towns, cities, hamlets, shipping ports, and gullies, and the leaking radiation prevents anyone from getting close enough to the carrier to stop it. The second problem is that any additional damage to the carrier will cause it to detonate, causing mass destruction and possibly nuclear winter. As a member of the elite Blast Corps demolition team, your job is to use your vehicles (and brain) to clear a path to the safe detonation site and rescue six scientists who have been stranded in various locales. Along the way, you can also complete side-levels - which often take the form of races or sometimes maze chases similar to Namco's Pac-Man - to earn medals, which eventually allow you to participate in races on other planets in the solar system.
