Additional Info

Captain Blubber is a minor recurring character in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Captain Blubber is a hippopotamus pirate captain. As his name implies, he has a tendency to cry when misfortune comes upon him (which is, unfortunately, often).

In the Games

In Banjo-Kazooie, he appears in Treasure Trove Cove. His ship has crashed into the beach and he can't reach his gold on the inside of the ship. He asks Banjo and Kazooie to bring him his gold and when they do, he repays them with a Jiggy while saying he's off to "spend, spend, spend!" He later appears in the ending sequence, riding a Waveracer around the beach and shouting "Wahey!"

In Banjo-Tooie, he appears in Jolly Roger's Lagoon. He now owns a Waveracer business which isn't going so well; all his Waveracers are shipwrecked, and one has been eaten by a giant fish. He asks Banjo and Kazooie to buy his last possession, a pair of Turbo Trainers, for one doubloon. He then runs off to enter a quiz at Jolly's to win 1000 doubloons and buy a new "flying machine." He later appears in the ending sequence, riding the Saucer of Peril into the night while shouting "Wahey!"

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Captain Blubber can first be found in Showdown Town. Hanging out in the Uptown area of town, covered in dirt, he reveals that he arrived in town after crashing the Saucer of Peril near the beach (where it can be seen lodged in the ground). He asks Banjo and Kazooie to give him some Notes, and in return gives them one of the Trapdoor Tower combinations. Blubber also serves as an actor in the challenge worlds, appearing in Banjoland, Jiggosseum, and Terrarium of Terror.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, a younger version of Captain Blubber, named "Little Blubber," appears in Breegull Beach. He and his gang of "pirate scouts" run a mini-game which consists of driving a boat in a small body of water while carrying a treasure chest, with the person who holds onto the chest the longest being the winner. If Banjo wins the mini-game, he earns a Jiggy from the treasure chest.
