Biography

The shipwreck of the Tenth Age had scattered the Queen's entourage near and far during a return voyage, and a group of elite guards were forced to return to the Enchanted Kingdom through a cold and distant forest. Snow weighed heavily on the thick branches and constant storms obscured sight, but many of the guards reported that they had seen a tiny scurrying figure in the blizzard. Only when the Queen later returned to this forest with her warriors could this mystery finally be solved-the guards had been accompanied by another Elemental Sprite. When captured, this sprite was restored to its true identity: Chilla, whose powers kept the winter winds fresh and crisp. [1]

History and Development

Chilla in the Beta.

In the Game

Chilla is the first warrior the player takes control of in the initial siege on Thorn's Castle. Outside of battle, Chilla is mostly used to climb walls and throw ice spikes at chains and switches. Chilla is crucial to the battle with Queen Thyra, and is the key to defeating Kalus while she is healing Thorn.

Abilities

  • Aim - Pull the left trigger to aim.
  • Ice Spike - Chilla launches whatever is on his back with the right trigger be it an icicle or Troll
  • Ice Pick - Chilla scales icy walls with the left trigger. He can drop or grab hold with the left trigger, or jump along the wall with the right trigger.
  • SpikeBack - Chilla attaches a nearby Troll to his back with the right trigger. The Troll can then be thrown with the right trigger, used as a club with the left and right triggers, and swung around with the right trigger.
  • Deep Chill - Continuously cools an ice spike to the point where it can instantly freeze enemies. While aiming, hold the left and right triggers.
  • Spike Storm - Chilla releases icicles from out of nowhere by slamming the ground using the left and right triggers.
  • Slam Hammer - With the left and right triggers pulled, Chilla slams whatever helpless Troll he holds into the ground.

In the Manga

Kameo initially uses Chilla to assist a group of Elfin soldiers at the beginning of the manga. Chilla displays his Spike Storm technique, considerably turning the tide of the battle. Chilla is later seen with Pummel Weed and Major Ruin during the fight with Kalus.

Trivia

  • Chilla is the only Warrior to appear in both parts of the Manga.
  • Kameo seems to favor Chilla in both parts of the Manga. This might be a reference to Chilla being a favorite of the Kameo Team.
  • Chilla's animations were left over from a similar character Rare worked on in the past.[2] This might have been Donkey Kong.
  • Chilla's spikes have a large range allowing him to strike Dragon enemies as well as Troll Airships.
  • Chilla was one of the five Elemental Sprites who brought Kameo to the Enchanted Kingdom. He was safeguarded by Theena while in Sprite form.
