Chompasaurus (Stomach-Cramped Carnivore) is a minor character in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Biography

Chompasaurus is a carnivorous dinosaur that lives inside Terrydactyland's mountain.

In the Games

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, Chompasaurus appears in the waters of the cave of Terrydactyland's mountain after Banjo and Kazooie stand atop its central platform. As he rises out of the water, Chompasaurus is presented as if he is a boss (there "Here Comes Trouble" music begins playing and he is given a subtitle) and, after sniffing the duo, swallows them whole in one bite. However, once they reach his stomach, he promises not to digest them if they can help him with his stomach problem by wiping out all the Blaarg ulcers, which is done in Breegull Blaster shoot-out style. If Banjo and Kazooie blast enough of the Blaargs, they earn a Jiggy and are allowed to leave through Chompa's mouth. Afterwards, Chompa lowers himself back into the water.

Interestingly, Chompasaurus, alongside Dippy and Stomponadon, are the only non-boss characters to get a boss-like intro and subtitles.
