Description
Donkey Kong Island is a large island which features many varied natural areas including jungles, forests, snowy mountains, and caves. It also includes many inorganic areas such as mines, ancient temples, factories, tree-top villages, and even an urban city. The central structure of Donkey Kong Island is a large mountain shaped like Donkey Kong's head. The island is the home to all of the Kongs and is the location of their impressive banana hoard.
Previously, located across from Donkey Kong Island was the homeland of the opposing Kremling race, Crocodile Isle. However, the island has since sunken into the ocean. Interestingly, the factories on Donkey Kong Island seem to be Kremling-owned, and there are even underwater ruins of an ancient Kremling city near Donkey Kong Island.

Donkey Kong Country
In Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Island serves as the main location on which the entire game takes place. The island is split up into several "worlds," which make up some of the different areas of the island.

Donkey Kong Land
In Donkey Kong Land, Donkey Kong Island again serves as the main location of the game. In this game, the game's "worlds" take place in even more areas of the island.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Donkey Kong Island does not appear as a main location of the game, which takes place on the opposing Crocodile Isle instead. However, Donkey Kong Island can be seen across from Crocodile Isle, and at the end of the game, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong watch the destruction of Crocodile Isle from the safety of Donkey Kong Island.
Donkey Kong 64
In Donkey Kong 64, a different, smaller version of Donkey Kong Island with different areas, called the DK Isles, serves as the game's hub world. The game's plot also revolves around King K. Rool attempting to use an enormous laser gun in order to destroy the island.
