Dippy (Seeker of Beverages) is a minor character in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Biography

Dippy is a diplodocus who lives in Terrydactyland. He lives in a cave in front of a large pond, from which he sticks his head out of to take a drink from the pond. He is very photosensitive and as such tends to stay out of the sun.

In the Games

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, Dippy appears in Terrydactyland. When Banjo and Kazooie stand in front of his pool, which has dried out), he sticks his head out and licks the ground pathetically. He then explains to the duo that his source of water has dried up and he can't go out to get more, as the sun burns him terribly. Kazooie, annoyed, tells him that the water won't simply fall from the sky. Later, in Cloud Cuckooland, Banjo and Kazooie drain water from a pool, which coincidentally is located just above Dippy's pond, filling it up. Surprised, Dippy remarks that Kazooie said the water wouldn't fall from the sky and she replies, "I lied." The two then earn a Jiggy.

Interestingly, Dippy, alongside Chompasaurus and Stomponadon, are the only non-boss characters to get a boss-like intro and subtitles.
