Puppy Killer 2000 (or PK2K) was a video game in development by members of the RWP community. It was planned to follow the tale of mirror universe spock and his quest to defeat Orville Redenbacher, with thousands of puppies in his way. There was no indication as to what exactly the game was, or what you did in it, other than the fact that you kill puppies. Modding a DOOM 2 WAD was suggested, however seeing as there was nothing other than promotional art for the game the engine could have changed in the future.

It ended up becoming a text-based adventure made in five minutes.

Development

Puppy Killer 2000 began in the RWP chat in May 2008. Tanjo, bored, explained how awesome it would be if there was a game that you just go around killing puppies. The plot then evolved to have Orville Redenbacher in it, Mirror Spock, and a wacky black sidekick with streetsmarts who gets killed by a swarm of puppies in the opening scene, sending Mirror Spock into a blind rage and attacking every puppy in sight. Level ideas proposed involved time travel. Paradoxes are overrated.

However due to legal issues all of the above was omitted.

There were 10 members on the PK2K team:

  • Tanjo
  • Mandy
  • Banjo64
  • L-Button
  • Gold Jinjo
  • Repobanjo
  • Conkerking
  • Donkey Kazoo
  • Kfred
  • Mafefe

Sequel

One day after the game's release, Tanjo hinted that he may be working on a sequel, Puppy Killer Forever. When asked when it would be released, he stated "When it's done".

A sequel was released, retitled "Puppy Killer 2009". Unlike PK2K this actually was a first person shooter and consisted of a single level with an unavoidable ending where the player is swarmed by puppies. Because of this there will be no more games in the series. Ever.
