Biography
The King of the Twelth Age was known for his avarice and eagerly collected the world's many treasures even as he searched for the Elemental Warriors. Hearing tell of a secret cavern full of smugglers' gold, the King and his warriors eagerly set out to claim whatever the cave contained as their own-ignoring warnings from many villagers, who believed the cave to be haunted. Reaching this hidden treasure cave, the King felt sure that he was not alone. Resolving that he and his warriors had nothing to fear, he pressed on into the cave and discovered that the so-called haunting was actually an Elemental Sprite, the greatest treasure of all. Flex was restored to the Wotnot Book that day; his powers ensured that rain fell to water the grasses and feed the fertile crops.[1]
History and Development
In the Game
Flex is uncovered from a Shadow Troll in Snowtop Village. Flex's Sucka Shot is used most often in the field, allowing him to easily defeat one form of Ice Troll, as well as travel using special plants.
Abilities
- Smack - Flex slaps with his tentacles using the right trigger. Landing hits will unleash a combo.
- Sucka Shot - Flex uses his tentacles to pull himself towards objects, or objects toward him. Hold the left and right triggers to aim, or pull quickly for a fast shot.
- Flingshot - Flex tosses whatever is on the end of his tentacles after a Sucka Shot. Hold left trigger to aim, and release to fire.
- Sucka Slam - Flex stretches himself high, and slams down with whatever he's holding after a Sucka Shot. Hold right trigger to change height, and release to drop.
- Shocker - Flex shocks whatever his Sucka Shot gives him while holding the left and right triggers.
- Slapstorm - Flex unleashes a volley of frenzied flailing while remaining in place when the left trigger is held.
- Super Shocker - A faster form of Shocker.
Trivia
- Flex was designed with "elasticity, and rubber bands" in mind. This was initially taken as a joke but was eventually incorporated into the character. [2]
- Flex latches onto objects with different sets on arms depending on the terrain: he'll use the top set while on land, and the bottom set while on water.
- Flex was one of the five Warriors condemned to the Shadow Realm by Theena along with Thorn's Troll Lords.
