In the Games

Conker's Bad Fur Day

Im Conker's Bad Fur Day (and its remake, Conker: Live & Reloaded), Conker encounters the Gargoyle during the Hungover chapter of the game, while trying to cross the Gargoyle's bridge. The Gargoyle refuses to let Conker pass, as he's "only just got comfy" in his new resting spot. If the player attempts to defy him and pass anyway, the Gargoyle will attack Conker and throw him off the bridge.

In order to pass the Gargoyle, the player must make Conker pull a level opposite the Gargoyle, and then enter the door that it opens halfway down the mountain. Inside Conker must chase a key with googly eyes until he remembers he has a frying pan which he can use to attack. After chasing down and whacking the key, he can use it to exit the room. Returning to the bridge and attacking the Gargoyle with the frying pan will cause one of two things to happen, depending on the version of the game being played.

In the original Conker's Bad Fur Day, the Gargoyle laughs at the futility of the frying pan as a weapon, but ends up losing his balance and falling off the bridge, and causing rocks to fall which must be destroyed by dynamite (activated with a nearby Context-Sensitive Zone).

In Conker: Live & Reloaded, the Gargoyle will remark at the uselessness of the frying pan, but remain in his spot. Conker confusedly says that he thought the Gargoyle was supposed to fall off after that. The Gargoyle reveals that the designers of the game decided to change the opening somewhat, meaning he'll have to try an alternate method of attack. Conker pulls out a baseball bat and attacks the Gargoyle with it, prompting him to fall onto his back and be crushed by a bunch of rocks, which can be destroyed with dynamite (activated by a nearby Context-Sensitive Zone).
