Golden Bananas are items in the Donkey Kong series.

Description

They are large golden bananas with a Nintendo 64 logo on them (and in one case, a Rare logo). They appear in a Banana Hoard similar to the ones the Kong's regular bananas are kept in.

In the Games

Donkey Kong 64

In Donkey Kong 64, the Golden Bananas are the game's main collectible (comparable to the Jiggies of Banjo-Kazooie). King K. Rool has his minions steal the all of the Golden Bananas as well as kidnap Diddy, Lanky, Tiny and Chunky Kong in order to keep Donkey Kong distracted as the Blast-O-Matic gun is prepared. Each Kong has five Golden Bananas to get on each level (including the overworld but excluding Hideout Helm), making 25 per level and totaling to 200 Golden Bananas. There is also a 201st Golden Banana which can be gotten by snapping photos of all the Banana Fairies in the game.
