Biography

The Golden Goliath is an enormous golden statue who spends most of his time half-buried in the ground until he is needed, at which point he is summoned, doing the bidding of his summoner.

In the Games

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, the Golden Goliath is found in Mayahem Temple. Mumbo Jumbo used his magic to awaken and control Golden Goliath, whose might is required to open the doors to the Jade Snake Grove and create a path to the Prison Compound. The Golden Goliath can be controlled for up to 70 seconds at a time, during which time he can be moved using the control stick, can jump with a press of the A button, and can kick baddies and objects with the B button. After the 70 seconds are up, he will whimper and automatically return to his pedestal. He has the distinction of being one of the few (if not only) characters in Banjo-Tooie who does not speak at all. However, he did feature in the game's Character Parade, which makes him officially a character rather than an object.

During the games ending sequence, the Golden Goliath is mentioned again. Mumbo threatens to send it to "kick ugly Wumba's butt" during an argument.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, the Golden Goliath can be seen in the kickball stadium in Banjoland. It is unknown if this is the same Golden Goliath from Banjo-Tooie or a fake, as some elements of Banjoland (such as Clanker) are the real deal, but others (such as the Click Clock Wood tree) are merely models.
