Grumblies are characters in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Description

Grumblies are yellow creatures resembling large worms. They are apparently unripe versions of Yumblies.

In the Games

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Grumblies appear in Bubblegloop Swamp. They appear during Mr. Vile's mini-game. In the second round of the mini-game, the player must eat more red Yumblies than Mr. Vile while avoiding the Grumblies. In the final round, the player must alternate between eating Yumblies and Grumblies, according to what is displayed at the top of the screen, while avoiding the whichever creature is not displayed. Eating the wrong creature will cause the player to stop and gag for a moment, wasting valuable time. They look a lot like the sand eels in the Quicksand.
