The Isle o' Hags is a large island which is central to the Banjo-Kazooie series. It acts as the overworld for Banjo-Tooie. Locations within the Isle o' Hags include Spiral Mountain, Jinjo Village, all the Banjo-Tooie levels (with the exception of Cloud Cuckooland, which is mostly composed of islands floating above the island, and Hailfire Peaks, which is apparently just off the coast) and Cauldron Keep.
In its capacity as an overworld, the Isle o' Hags is officially divided into subsections (in this sense, it does not include Spiral Mountain).

Jinjo Village
- Main article: Jinjo Village
A sunny village home to 45 Jinjos of nine different colours. In the centre of the village is King Jingaling's golden palace. Although most of the village is grassy, there is also a sandy area and some icy caves. The village also has a minority population of moles, namely Bottles and family.
Wooded Hollow
- Main Aritcle: Wooded Hollow
A grassy, forested area where Jiggywiggy's Temple is to be found, along with Heggy's Egg Shed. There is a small cave created by the tracks of the Hag 1, and some stone architecture apparently connected with the nearby Mayahem Temple.
Plateau
- Main article: Plateau
The Isle o' Hags has some unusual geography, and the first example is that the Wooded Hollow is apparently contained within the Plateau. However, this is impossible, since there is open sky above the Plateau, and this scenario would put Glitter Gulch Mine in the middle of the Hollow. So it’s safe to assume that there are some unseen tunnels between the exit of the Wooded Hollow and the entrance to the Plateau.
The Plateau is scattered with rubble, presumably by-products of excavating Glitter Gulch Mine, which lies beneath the Plateau. On one of these piles of rubble stands Honey B’s Hive, beneath which there is a silo where Kazooie learns to launch Fire Eggs. The Plateau is the first Isle O’ Hags area that overlooks a bottomless drop.
From a layout perspective, it is interesting in that it is where the overworld diverges, to the Pine Grove (Witchyworld and beyond) on the left and the Cliff Top (Jolly Roger's Lagoon and Hailfire Peaks) on the right.
Pine Grove
- Main article: Pine Grove
The Pine Grove is a grassy, wooded area which plays host to the Flume of Doom, a Witchyworld attraction which is perpetually out of order. It contains the entrance to Witchyworld and Wumba’s Wigwam, where Humba Wumba transforms Kazooie into a dragon in exchange for a Mega Glowbo. There is also a small lake containing a crashed flume log. It is adjacent to Witchyworld. The entrance to the second tunnel, blocked by a Talon Torpedo Door, is located in the pond.
Cliff Top
- Main article: Cliff Top
The Cliff Top is a dead end; that is, it can be accessed from the Plateau but no other Isle O’ Hags areas can be accessed from it. However, it is the first area to play host to the entrance to two levels (Jolly Roger’s Lagoon, and Hailfire Peaks). It’s also home to the Isle’s Train Station and Mumbo’s Skull (which both exist for the purpose of curing Scrat the sick styracosaurus from Terrydactyland).
Wasteland
- Main article: Wasteland
Connected from the Pine Grove by a digger tunnel, the Wasteland’s most striking feature is the giant sculpted dinosaur head which constitutes the entrance to Terrydactyland. Almost hidden from view is the purple rock outcrop where the bubble lift that takes passengers to Cloud Cuckooland is situated.
Quagmire
- Main article: Quagmire
A swampy area and another dead end. It is near here that Grunty Industries is located, as well as the foot of the mountain that is home to Cauldron Keep.
