Killer Instinct 2 had a conversion for the SNES in development, however, it was cancelled.
Development
Similarly to the first Killer Instinct, the sequel would be converted for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It had more frames of animation retained from the arcade original compared to the port of the first game, that had 80% of of the animation frames taken out of the conversion. The garphics were also closer to the original version of the game, compared to the Killer Instinct port.
Cancellation
According to Chris Tilston, the port was completed, but was cancelled due to the release of the technologically superior Nintendo 64, which recieved a port of Killer Instinct 2 titled Killer Instinct Gold.
