Parry the Parallel Bird is a minor character in the Donkey Kong series.

Biography

Parry is a small, plump yellow, blue, and red-feathered bird who is one of the Kong's Animal Buddies.

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Parry appears in a few levels. Parry's gimmick is that he floats parallel to Dixie and Kiddy Kong while flying above them. He essentially serves as an escort mission; if the Kongs can get him to the end of a level without him dying, he will transform into something useful. In some levels he turns into something required for full completion, such as turning into the third Bonus Barrel in Stampede Sprint. Parry can defend himself against some enemies, such as Booty Birds using his beak, and he will also collect high-up items that are on the same height as himself.
