Updates

On May 4, 2006, Rare released an automatic update for the game that added bots to DarkOps, fixed various glitches, and prepared the game for downloadable content. Details can be found here.

On June 7, 2006, Rare released four new maps on the Xbox Live Marketplace: Gasplant, Trench, Plaza, and Rooftops. The "Perfect Dark Zero Map Pack One" costs 500 Microsoft Points and includes the Small, Base 1, and Base 2 sections of each of the four maps. An upcoming download - costing 500 Microsoft Points, according to Official Xbox Magazine - will include the Base 3 and Base 4 sections of the maps. This has prompted criticism from many players, who claimed that Rare has ripped them off, forcing people to pay what amounts to $12.50 USD for four maps. A counter-argument is that, because each map will most likely have three available variants by the time the second map pack is released, players are essentially getting 12 maps for 1000 Points.

On October 31, 2006, ComputerAndVideoGames.com reported that that two maps from Perfect Dark, Facility and Ruin, will be included in the upcoming Map Pack Two and the Platinum Edition release of Perfect Dark Zero.

On November 1, 2006, Facility and Ruin became available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for Gold-level subscribers. Major Nelson referred to them as "Map Pack Two," which brings up the question of what happened to Bases 3 and 4 of the original four expansion maps.
