Rare games
Donkey Kong Country
Interestingly, unused idle graphics for a Puftup have been found in the original Donkey Kong Country[1], sporting blue fins.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Puftups are found in many of the game's water levels. Puftups swim back and forth in a repeating pattern until Diddy or Dixie Kong approaches. As the Kongs get closer, Puftup begins to engorge itself. If they get too close, Puftup explodes and shoots four of its spikes through the water. The only way to defeat Puftup is to have it explode (while managing to avoid its spikes), or to attack it with Enguarde's pointy bill.
Donkey Kong Land 2
In Donkey Kong Land 2, Puftups appear again. They are very similar to before, aside from the fact that they do not explode to attack anymore, instead serving more as obstacles.
Donkey Kong 64
In Donkey Kong 64, Puftups return, again inhabiting underwater areas. This time, they explode like a mine when approached by a Kong.
In addition, Lanky Kong fights a giant Puftup, named Puftoss, who serves as the boss of the Gloomy Galleon world.
Banjo Tooie
Puftups were later reused as swellbellies appearing in the water of Jolly Roger's Lagoon doing the same as Donkey Kong ones, but they can also be blown with Grenade Eggs and Talon Torpedo.
Non-Rare games
DK: Jungle Climber
The puftups reappear in DK: Jungle Climber after 8 years of absence from the Donkey Kong games. If Diddy Kong or Donkey Kong charges into these enemies while they are deflated, they will be defeated.
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
The puftups make their appearance in Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed as items to attack the racers during the course against others. The puftups no longer explode like the previous games, but they can deflate whether the player hits the puftups with or without the items. They also have blue coloring on their skin like on it's first appearance on the Donkey Kong universe.
