Description
Snippets are large green crabs, so named for the sound made by their large pincers used for attacking. A radioactive variation of Snippets are the Mutie-Snippets.
In the Games
Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Kazooie, Snippets are found in Treasure Trove Cove. They can be defeated in one hit with a Beak Buster, and weaker attacks will simply knock the Snippets onto their back, at which point they can be attacked once more for defeat. The Snippets attack by running at Banjo and using their pincers.
A single black-colored Snippet appears in the Sandcastle in Treasure Trove Cove. He challenges Banjo and Kazooie to solve his puzzle, typing out "BANJOKAZOOIE" using the Beak Buster attack on the letter tiles on the floor in under 100 seconds, to win a Jiggy. However, once this task is finished, the black Snippet will attack Banjo and Kazooie. The black Snippet is tougher than his green counterparts; a single Beak Buster only knocks him on his back. Once he is defeated, the Jiggy he guards can be collected easily.
Trivia
- Snippets are the namesake and mascot of the "Snippets" section of Scribes, the mailbag column on Rare's official website. The "Snippets" section features the shorter (and often nonsensical) letters sent to the site.
