The Japanese version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, The Super Famicom was Nintendo's second home console system (and first 16-bit system) in Japan. It was released on November 21, 1990, in Japan, and became one of Nintendo's best-selling consoles. The Super Famicom had many games, including Super Mario World, Mother 2 (Earthbound), Super Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong Country), Super Metroid, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Some consider the Super Famicom to embody the "Golden Age of Video Games", with its groundbreaking games and "Gameplay over Graphics" mentality. The Super Famicom continues to be popular with many gamers, even to this day.
