Time Trial Mode

Time Trial mode is a game mode in Diddy Kong Racing (as well as Diddy Kong Racing DS.)

This game mode is unlocked by collecting all four parts of the T.T. Amulet by beating the each of the Key Challenges. In Time Trial mode you are able to race on each stage with the timer on and with the other racers off, allowing you to set your own time on each stage. All levels are given a goal time and upon breaking this goal time T.T.'s ghost will appear in the level. Unlocking and beating T.T.'s ghost in every stage will unlock T.T. has a playable character.
