The washing machine is a transformation in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, the washing machine appears as a "joke" transformation. When Mumbo is transforming Banjo, there is a random chance that he will execute the wrong spell and turn Banjo into a washing machine, rather than that world's actual transformation, although he immediately corrects this mistake. The washing machine also appears as an effect of the cheat that Bottles gives upon completion of his final Bottles' Bonus puzzle ("WISHYWASHYBANJO", which can be entered at the Sandcastle). While transformed into the washing machine, Banjo can use all of his moves except for the Stilt Stride and Turbo Talon Trot and cannot be transformed into other creatures by Mumbo, as he is opposed to the washing machine transformation. The washing machine is also, interestingly, invulnerable to hazards such as the piranha-infested swamp water of Bubblegloop Swamp and the freezing waters of Freezeezy Peak.

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, the washing machine appears as the transformation of Grunty Industries, performed by Humba Wumba. The washing machine has the ability to fire soggy underwear as an offensive attack, to clean the clothes of the six Skivvy workers in the factory, to use the factory's service elevators, and to press a particularly heavy power switch. However there is a large electromagnet guarding the switch, meaning it is necessary to first disable it with an E.M.P. from Mumbo and then quickly transform into the washer and press the button before the magnet reactivates.
