Description
Zingers are large wasps with spikes covering their bodies. Zingers apparently reside in large hives located just outside Krazy Kremland on Crocodile Isle.
In the Games
Donkey Kong Country
In Donkey Kong Country, Zingers make their debut. In this game, Zingers are typically used as obstacles, as they cannot be defeated by normal attacks; only a thrown barrel or an Animal Buddy will defeat them.
One of the game's bosses is also a very large queen Zinger named Queen B.
Donkey Kong Land
In Donkey Kong Land, Zingers reappear, identical to their appearance in Donkey Kong Country.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Zingers appear once more. In this game, Zingers are similar to their appearance in Donkey Kong Country, although they now come in only two varieties: yellow, which can be defeated with a barrel or Animal Buddy; and red, which are invulnerable to all attacks. Zingers appears most frequently in the "hive" levels located just outside Krazy Kremland.
One of the game's bosses is a very large king Zinger named King Zing.
Donkey Kong Land 2
In Donkey Kong Land 2, Zingers reappear, identical to their appearance in Donkey Kong Country 2.
Donkey Kong 64
In Donkey Kong 64, Zingers appear again. In this game, they are commonly found flying in the air, and will attempt to divebomb any Kongs who come near them. Zingers are most easily defeated with a shot from the current Kong's produce gun of choice.
