Alright, this is what's going on with Grunty's portrait - at least, as far as I can tell. Firstly, in Banjo-Kazooie, the Grunty's portrait image is divided up into four tiles, as the N64 had an unfortunate problem with its texture storage space, and developers had to come up with ways around this in order to display larger images with more clarity. If you were to view the portrait in the wireframe rendering mode of any emulator - you'd clearly see the divide where the different tiles meet.
Now, in Banjo-Tooie, instead of having the normal Grunty portrait in Banjo-Kazooie, which only comprised of four square polygonal shapes stuck together side by side - you've got the more complicated shape of the ripped portrait. As a result, it became much more difficult for Rare to texture on all of the four Grunty's portrait tiles onto that shape. As a result, they could only use one tile on it - and they just chose one of the tiles. Which looks a bit odd - and they could have just made a blurrier version of the entire portrait, which would have made more sense - but there you go. Perhaps this animation will help clarify, if my incessant rambling isn't coherent. Which it's not. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ysportrait.gif Alternatively - IT WAS TEH STOP AND SWAPS, GUYS. |
Interesting Banjo-Fella I never thought of it but as long as RWPF satys alive we won't stop searching for stop n swop unless it is found to be fake!
|
If by "fake" you mean "nonexistant" or "existant but in a form most people don't really like" - then I've got some grave news for you, m'boy... ;)
|
Don't tell me I think I know what it is.

That has nothing to do with SnS

Edit: 1500 posts woah |
Banjo-Fella - That was ingenious, my friend. May I say that that was the most intelligent post I've seen in this thread since at least page 62. I commend thee. How did you come by that Grunty-pic reasoning? I never could have made that connection, however, I did see the 4 tiles, seconds before it was mentioned...Nice job, indeed! Please accept this certificate, and this 78-year old bar of chocolate. Nice to see someone's mind actually work in this topic, other than Hatrick, GM2K, and BenjoKoolzooie! I'll climb off of the Soap Box now...;)

another door in bt that gets 2 me is the door in the drill on the ice side of hailfire peaks
|
Maybe it was suppossed to lead somewhere but Nintendo didn't like the idea and removed it.
|
they seem 2 ruin all the fun, dont they

Something just occured to me, what if the Eggs represnt a Letter and clues to getting them in the right order began with the letter, first think of a 6 letter word about the game banjo-Kazooie, The word that came to my mind was GRUNTY
now with each egg as a letter, using the letters of her name to start a clue to the eggs:- Egg 1 - G = Gobi's Door. Egg 2 - R = Rusty Bucket. Egg 3 - U = U-Bend (a Toilet part) Egg 4 - N = Nabnuts Table Egg 5 - T = Treasure Cave Egg 6 - Y = Year 1881 (Barrel) its probably a silly theory but what do you think? |
its farfetched but maybe

Incidentally, if you light up Grunty's Old Lair with a fire egg or Dragon Kazooie's breath - you'll see that the colours of the portrait are actually the same - only they're currently being darkened by the dynamic lighting. |
i dont understand what youre talking about with the grunty portrait
|
good theory crystal jinjo! Have you tried using the original names to see if you could make a word? That would be:
Sharkfood island Loggo (because I really doubt it could be U-bend) Gobi's door Cellar Wozza's cave Captain's cabin Nabnut's table But, due to the lack of vowels....have you tried the actual names? Pink egg Blue egg Green egg Cyan egg Red egg Ice key Yellow egg Still very little vowels though. It's a good theory though, and it could be something like that. |

I feel the truth of stop N swop will be reavealed I also hope it won't be like finding the Triforce in Zelda Oot (ocarina of time for you newbies)
|
Yay! I get to be first to say happy one year aniversery of this thread. We have made progress, and soon SnS will be discovered or proved non existant. Although this is going back some time, someone said that blackeye couldn't have anything to do with the rusty bucket, as the code says trip on grunty's rust ship, but not all owners are captains, and not all captains own their ships. There could/may have been a connection between blackeye and RBB, hence the X on sharkfood island, but I dont think so. Just a thought though.

No nintendo said it all was fraud and at this site http://internal.tbi.net/~max/zelda64.htm it is all reavealed by Video Gamer X!

Moon Jump + Zelda's Courtyard. It's in Beta Quest, but I haven't tried it in Normal. It's just the Triforce on Link's hand...
Anyway, if we find much of anything, I'm convinced it'll be in Banjo-Tooie... |
Yeah you can see it under the courtyard in Beta but you can't get it
Facts about SNS (some like 5-9 re just theories that might not be true) 1. The Jinjo Village rocks have nothing to do with SNS they are just part of the Digger Tunnel 2. Neither do the boulders in Wooded Holllow 3. There might be some hidden dtat in the memeiry we haven't searched yet and it holds the codes for SNS 4. Nintendo didn't like the fact of SNS and might have removed it but Rare still left clues in the data 5. There is a hidden sandcastle code that allows Grunty's Picture to become a portal 6. Entering that portal would result in time travel sort of and you would meet cheato 7. Cheato would tell you a special cheat that allows you to get the pic in the present to fix 8. Enter the picture to complete SNS 9. It would unlock a special feature in tooie That is my theorie feel free to give feedback! |
has anyone noticed there r only 90 jiggies in bt when there were 100 in bk? i did, but it didnt mean much until i remembered in bk Gruntys lair has 10 jiggies! maybe thats where u get the missing 10 jiggies
|
Maybe Rare was lazy and only put in 90 because they were tired and needed to work on CBFD, GE and GBTG and GR!
|
maybe but that doesnt sound like rare... still, youre probably right.
|
Rare is a pair of jokers who like toying with other peoples minds with Canary Mary in Cloud Cookoo Land and so on it's just so annoying!
|
thats them... by the way how do u use the clockwork kazooie eggs to sneak past the rocks in gruntildas lair?
|
Easy just walk near the right or left of the lair and look for a little hole and then you will see a hole and fire the egg near the hole and sneak as Clock work Kazooie then you will find nothing!
|
thanks
|
Your welcome!
|
i know this is crazy but do u think the door near grunty industries leads to rusty bucket bay?
