Weekly Categories
Topic of the Week: This can be awarded for ANY topic on the forum that shows inspiration, is well accepted, and genuinely unique. Stands above the rest.

Best Rep Distributor of the Week: Goes to whoever gives the best rep during the week, whether it be positive or negative.

Most Amusing Post of the Week: Getting snickers out of the members can get you notes for yourself.

Improved Member of the Week: Improving yourself finally pays off in the form of a note at the end of the week. Things such as typing corrections, spelling corrections, being less rude, etc, can all net you this one.

Interesting Discovery of the Week: Find something on the internet that made your jaw drop? Share it with us, and if our jaws drop too we'll toss you a note.

Mod of the Season: Goes to whatever mod executes the most useful tasks during the calendar season.

FAQ
Q:
How do I purchase an item?
A: Create a unique topic asking for the item. The points will be deducted from your account, and you will receive the upgrade. This gives users a chance to comment and congratulate you and your purchase, and discuss what you chose or what you plan to do with it.

Q: What is the suspended list?
A: If the mods/admins consider a member to be spamming to try and win a "category of the week" (IE: Posting a lot of copy/pasted random jokes in the middle of topics just to try and win funniest post) they will be banned from answering Question of the Day questions AND from receiving any points from ANY category for the next week.

Q: When do you see the winners for the weekly categories?
A: Every Wednesday, the results of the previous week are posted. This gives posts and topics a chance to develop over time via replies. Also, I have an opportunity to survey and critique all the nominees.

Q: How do the winners of weekly categories get selected?
A: They are selected through multiple references and contact methods. One way to nominate someone for a category is to send a PM to "NoteNominees".

Grey this is one of the best ideas for the RWP I've ever seen. I am very much looking forward to it. I really don't know what to say. Great job and idea! It's awesome! It wasn't a mistake when you were appointed admin...

Shweet.

BlueBreegull 6th July 2006 06:35 AM

This sounds... fun.

I hope it doesn't give some members a sense of superiority. Though most of us are pretty mature.

If some people start getting jealous of others and negative repping them or positive repping you grey to try bribe you you should put them on the suspended list.

(3 Notes) +25x25 Profile Pic Resolution (150x150 Max)
(5 Notes) Allow Animation (For Profile Pics)

These rewards are available as upgrades when you've purchased the "Enable Profile Pictures" I know it's pretty obvious, but I thought I'd point that out anyway.

What about 50 notes for a slightly bigger avatar?

Mandy 6th July 2006 03:53 PM

Larger avatars would make the forums look messy. It was discussed but we decided against it.

The issue with different avatar sizes is that it can distort the current frame setup. The browser would probably distort and we'd have all kinds of wierd looking sized pages.

What if we just stretched it out so you could have a longer one that takes up the space on the top bar?

Mandy 6th July 2006 04:03 PM

That would push you username over, we actually tried that one out, it looked very wrong (in my opinion). Plus almost all forums use the same proportions for width and height when it comes to avatars.

Nice to hear some more suggestions though :)

Cool, but I could see a potential problem with the 'Most Amusing Post of the Week' category. People could go overboard with stupid posts just to gain notes. Also, I don't really understand what 'Custom Usertitle Option' is. Explain?

Mandy 7th July 2006 12:06 AM

It means you can change your custom title anytime using a field in your user CP

Custom Title: You get a 1 shot change from "registered member" to whatever.

Custer Usertitle Option: You gain access to the option to change this title at any time.

Or so I would guess.

I win again BB :p
