Interest in RWP Hacking class #6?
Is there any interesting in a RWP Hacking class #6? This class would cover advanced assembly hacking techniques and tips and tricks. It's really only for experts, and would probably not be an IRC chat like the previous ones, but instead just a document. It would also probably cover things like how games load backgrounds/setups, etc, in games, etc.

I'd be interested in it, though I haven't truly began learning ASM yet. But once I'm learning ASM, it may be useful.
|
I'd do it.
|
I'd be very interested in learning about this sort of stuff.

I MISS EVERYTHING.

Where is the poll so we can see a landslide of yes votes?
also; yes. |
Same here. I'd be very interested as well.

If I could be linked to 1-5, I'd love to see something like this.

No idea if you started it or not, but I signed up on these forums just to comment saying I'd really appreciate it if you could publish as much as you know :). So please make a #6! There is no documentation on the internet other than what I've see you and a select others publish on forums and what not.

I remember the first IRC class, it was so long ago. Unlimited Ammo in Goldeneye...beautiful.
|
I haven't forgotten about this, there's definitely some interest, enough to warrant making it. I don't know when it will be, as things are busy, but it will come.

I would love to see it. I have gotten quite good at assembly since the last time I read them. Are the old ones still archived? If so, where?
EDIT: Never mind I found them. http://www.therwp.com/article/rwp-hacking-class-1 http://www.therwp.com/article/rwp-hacking-class-2 http://www.therwp.com/article/rwp-hacking-class-3 http://www.therwp.com/article/rwp-hacking-class-4 http://www.therwp.com/article/rwp-hacking-class-5 |
I guess before I start doing anything, is there anything that people desperately want to know that's of the advanced hacking type?
|
I don't know about 'desperately' but I'd honestly love to learn just about everything you have to offer.

As Dan said, anything you have to teach us would be nice! I feel that N64 editing is a lost art and as much information published on it would be sweet. On the same note however, I'm a huge bro and one thing that's been in the back of my mind this whole time is someday I'd like to update NFL Blitz 2000; Updated roster, allowing the start button to be pressed in season mode (for 2 player), and adding expansion teams (Houston Texans). I'd like to to breath new life back into the classic title in the same way people have with Tecmo Bowl. So any tutorial that can show adding new things into a game would be awesome. Otherwise anything you can think of :) |
