Cutscene modifier, eh? Any word on the progress, or what we have found so far?

I need some kind of direction because I have been out of the game for a while.

A topic that I bumped from a while back about the cutscene modifier project

hatrickpatrick 30th April 2006 08:35 PM

ok well apparently Ice Mario may be able to give us a decent (m) code for tooie at last, so it'll solve part of the problem when hacking into it
There are 2 big problems:
1: It crashes constantly as soon as you start using in-game trainer tools (mem. editor, code gen etc). Apparently the GS screws up BT's exception handler (I'm not quite sure what that means but an exception handler tells the game what to do if there's an error so it can't be good) and causes it to crash all the time.
2: When you DO get into it, the memory moves around CONSTANTLY, like CBFD. Not quite as bad as that, but bad enough.

Ice says he can make a code to keep the GS away from the exception handler so that solves the problem as far as crashing is concerned. I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about the dynamic memory except hacking pointers, which, although annoying, IS possible.

What about the cutscene mod for BK?

hatrickpatrick 30th April 2006 08:38 PM

Ah, yes, that... It's a complete nightmare but I still believe it MIGHT be possible. I'll look into that tomorrow night if I can.

hatrickpatrick 2nd May 2006 09:29 PM

Ok sorry again but I didn't get a chance, I promise I'll try and do it in a day or two though...

I gotta apologize for my general inconsistency and absense in general over the last couple of months... My life got a bit chaotic, I was insanely busy with general mayhem (you know how it goes, etc etc etc) and with what being what I just haven't been around much...

I'll start into that cutscene mod tomorrow. Maybe I'd be betgtger off leaving the bulk of it until the weekend when I should have a lot of time. Most of the chaos is over now so with a bit of luck I'll be here as much as I used to be.

Good luck Hatrick we are all rooting for ya. ;)
Oh and good job with the theory that was good solid proof, I think it is possible.

kazooieguy 2nd May 2006 11:03 PM

yep good luck

That SNS RWP video was good because of his description I've been surfing RWP since 2004 but not the forums.
I really want to see that.
The topic is below. http://www.rarewitchproject.com/foru...ighlight=Video
Perhapes Gold could host it with his server, or GM2K.

I was banned back then from forums then I was unbanned. (not IP Banned or regular banned)
Back on topic: I could probably help hatrick although my version is NTSC BT I think then we can convert it to PAL.
I'm going to start now.
Well actually I'm going to try with my rom. (emucheat)

kazooieguy 4th May 2006 01:51 AM

GameandWatch33 5th May 2006 04:27 PM

Yeah, it's too bad everything i've worked on has been NTSC.

Hopefully hatrick will lead us in a new direction and get us out of this slump.

kazooieguy 5th May 2006 07:34 PM

I hope so
