Also, there are two more problems I've found which I also encountered in making a plaformer.

1. The player can go through the bottom of platforms which he's not supposed to

2. There's no difference in jump height based on how long a button's held

I've never been able to find a solution for these, but it's something to think about.

Can easily be fixed, make the platform solid via simple coding. It's quite easy.

Hammer suit? Haha that sounds cool.

It's a real power up from SMB3. It lets you throw hammers.

For a power-up suggestion, have you considered the shell power-up from NSMB? To allow you to spin around and hit enemies in that fashion? Like kicking the koopa shell now, but being able to control it loosely? The Blue Koopa Shell

Also, can you make it so that the Star power-up doesn't eliminate your existing one, but masks over it?

Someone suggested the Tanooki Suit, can this be done? I would suggest that pressing down transforms you into the statue, where you'll crash down to the ground, and be invincible while in that state. Then releasing the statue form will destroy anything really close to Mario.

Have you considered the Cape Feather providing the ability to spin? Spinning could knock away and defeat enemies, alongside the Cape causing Mario to hover down slowly from the air.

Rock Mushroom? Similar ability to the Blue Koopa Shell.

Possibly add Yoshi?

#1 - Sounds good to me. I'll put that in.
#2 - I'd have to do lots of stuff with variables. That's gonna take a lot of time. I need to think about that one.
#3 - The way you describe it sounds good. I just thought that being invincible for a short period of time would be completely useless.
#4 - Hmm... Sounds okay, but it doesn't sound very useful.
#5 - Why would I need a power up that does the exact same thing twice?
#6 - No. Yoshi would be WAAAY too hard.

EDIT: 900th post!

Oh, really? Here's the .gmk file.

Alright, I added two new arenas and a new powerup.

HAVE YOU NOT PLAYED SUPER MARIO WORLD?

1. Awesome.
2. Alright, I understand.
3. You're welcome =)
4. I do, of course, mean the ability to spin while moving. If you've ever played Super Mario World, you can relate to how useful this ability was, it's practically invincibility for anything on ground level, or anything below you while in the air.
5. I was just suggesting an alternative, there's no reason to add both, but you could add whichever you liked best
6. Okay :P

Edit: Also, I've noticed, you have a limited number of Pokemon from the Pokeball powerup. Is it possible to add more to it? If so, I could probably think up some ideas.

lemurboy12 23rd November 2010 03:01 AM

I've played Super Mario World and I completely know what it's for. It just doesn't seem very useful for a game like this, minus the spinning.

There is no limit at all, but I need 3D sprites for each Pokemon. I got them from Super Smash Bros. 64, around the internet, and some from my friend Corruptendo on Gmod. (Scyther, Jolteon, and Lapras)

Well, the spinning is the point behind it. :)

Scyther, Jolteon, and Lapras? I can't say I've ever seen these? Are they in the game so far or in a future update?

Bradlestix 23rd November 2010 09:11 PM

I saw a Jolteon when I played it, so I guess they're already in there.

They're in the game. You just need to throw more Pokeballs. Lapras however, is very rare. There's a 1/50 chance it will appear. Also, you got the high score FOUR TIMES?! Wow. You must really enjoy this game.

Update #32... New Pokemon.
Meowth - Uses Payday all over the screen.
Pidgey - Uses gust when it reaches the top of the screen
Chansey - Throws eggs which hatch into powerups
Bulbasaur - Uses bullet seed straight up into the air and then the seeds fall
Hitmonlee - Flies at enemies and kicks them
Goldeen - Flops around and then... a suprise.
Gardevoir - Follows you around with a protective shield.

I also fixed a bunch of glitches.

BKGeno4Ever 25th November 2010 01:42 PM

I knew there'd be pokemon. Nice job.
