I got the new switch pokemon game I am likin it so far

I mean it this time.

I've been saying that I would like to one day experience a brand new generation of Pokémon totally blind. I've been harping on about it since at least Sun and Moon's announcement. It's something I really want to live through. THIS TIME'S DIFFERENT.

Before I had not really wanted to, fully. I wasn't truly motivated for it, and was pretty wishy-washy about the whole ordeal.


Not this time buddy! Nuh-uh, not failing once again! My interest in the Pokémon franchise has waned a tad over the years gone by, but I'm dead set on following through this go around. I want my victory. And I've prepared. Oh I've prepared. I've got a three-step plan:

1.)The second Gen Viii starts getting revealed in some Nintendo livestream or whatever, get the heck out of there and close it immediately.
2.)Cut ties with any and all media outlets that could cover Pokémon information until the games' eventual release. Avoid the entire Pokémon news cycle like a spiky plague.
3.)Patience.

Shouldn't be too hard, right?

Y'know some of our younger members may not have actually read Harry Potter yet.

I think Harry Potter is in the Pokemon universe.

Trainers just have Abras teleport the mess away. This is why Abras run away from every human they see.

Relate heavily to the concept of having abilities that are used by other people to handle their garbage, instead of being used for potentially far more interesting shit

Also relate to Abra's example in the idea that after a while it breeds regular misanthropy

Thats what I love about the pokemon world you could literally have any profession be a trainer class with related pokemon for the job

Tentatively posting in here with my hand covering the screen but:


SO IT BEGINS. We're doing this amigos. I've gone to silly lengths not to know a damn thing about the new Pokémon games, and I'mma keep doin' that until the games come out. Things will slip by obviously but I'm cool with that. I can still learn absurdly little if I stay dedicated. I think I can really do it.

Due to a hiccup, so far I've learned that the region is called Galar. (Might be the Japanese name? I dunno.) I learned that it SEEMS to be based upon the UK, though that appeared like speculation. I'll take their word for it though, because of all the rumors we had beforehand.

And...that's it. I haven't seen a single screenshot, I don't know what was in the trailer, I don't know the box legendaries, and I know the starters were revealed but not what they are. I don't know when it's coming out. I don't even know what the games are CALLED.

Let's see how long I can keep it that way.

(by the way, due to the nature of what I'm doing, I can't read anything you say in here for many many month. so if you ever wanted to tell me how sweet and adorable I am but were too shy to have me find out, now's the time. :p)

The Green Version I have is an earlier edition. A lot of mons yes, and I got a collector's pack artbook for it to boot. Here are some high quality scans.
