I'll look into it.

Theguyoverthere 27th March 2006 06:51 AM

Hey! I have a quarter-witted idea! Can someone with a gameshark pro test this out? Cause I have one but I'm too lazy cause the game always freezes and I'm not a very experienced hacker.

Put the code generator ON.
Go to Spiral Mountain.
Go to an area with a BK cartridge.
Break open the BK cartridge, but don't grab the egg.
Do an unknown value search.
Grab the "?" egg
Do a search for "greater than"
Repeat with the other "?" egg in Spiral Mountain.

Hopefully you'll get a low number of results and if you don't try throwing in some "equal to" searches in there.

Now what this does is that, if you can find the right code, that address might be the one that decides what SNS items you have. If the default value is one or two, or one or two hundred, then it might just be. Now change the quanity to something like 5 or 6 or 5 or 600 or just make it higher, and go to your "objects and items" totals page. Maybe you will have otehr secret items like the other three eggs not found in Banjo-Tooie! Kind of crazy, but hay, with a good enough hacker it might uncover something. Or not. Whatever. But consider it.

EDIT: Anyone consider it yet?

Theguyoverthere 29th March 2006 06:40 AM

BUMP even though it's a sticky come on someone has to try this

Yuoko 29th March 2006 01:55 PM

Decent idea, I just need to find my GS...
You know, I just noticed something highly random in the B-K Code Chamber...
You can spell 'Hax", and they're connected..

user1000 29th March 2006 07:07 PM

umm this is kind of off from what you guys have been talking about the last few pages, but i was playing GFF and the question was whos voice is this, the answers were :

captain blubber the hippo (correct)
someone else
Captain Blackeye the Pirate

weird no?

dmoss 29th March 2006 07:22 PM

Weird...that's kind of interesting. I think I do recall seeing that in the game, as well. I think the Rare squad likes to keep some original ideas in their final products, just for a retrospect view. An insider joke, if you will. :)

Back in the day (2002 - I feel old now), someone_cuckoo pointed out that you can also spell "hoax."

Naturally, everyone except me forgets about stuff like that. I only remembered it because I wrote about it in my school's literary mag a few years ago. ;)

This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to get done recently, both this and the hidden silos are my 2 main points of investigation at the moment...

Unfortunately, Doing this is impossible in BT until I can find a decent enable code - so far I haven't been able to get one but there IS one in the NTSC version, so there must be a PAL one as well...

Anyone have ny luck with the code for the silos?

Theguyoverthere 31st March 2006 02:01 AM

What's the one for the NTSC version? I have it and I can't hack Banjo-TOoie cause of stupid freezes! And I really wanna find the moon jump as well.

TwoFinger 31st March 2006 02:02 AM

you know what,I think that the eggs you can get in BT are the ones you dont have to get in BK

Theguyoverthere 31st March 2006 02:15 AM

That is a great idea!!! And it makes sense! If SnS actually took place then why transfer 6 eggs from BK to BT when you already have 3? I bet you were meant to transfer the ones that weren't in BT so u could have them.

GREAT IDEA TwoFinger!

GREAT IDEA TwoFinger!

My first post, and I was complimented thx w00t

Theguyoverthere 31st March 2006 06:47 AM

Now that we have a theory, we need a way to test it. Now, who's a great hacker?

icegod 31st March 2006 11:52 AM

They were prob just added caus they promised you would get them in BK. I think they don't have anything to do with sns.

Yeah, there are a lot of instances of this while playing GFF. I remember one being Who is the shaman that transforms you?" Mumbo Jumbo, Mingy Jongo, Humba Wumba. "Who are the little colorful things in every world?" Minjos, Jinjos, Frinjos These are not exact questions but the answers do give some BT names in it.

Theguyoverthere 31st March 2006 11:03 PM

But does anyone know the enable code for BT for the NTSC version?

Dricenticore 1st April 2006 06:50 AM

Wow. I just read 133 pages of SNS info.

Anywho, Pretty much I only wanted to say 2 things:

1. Kreuger(numbers) posted a picture of memory. I think he wanted you to loook at the numbers (the highlighted ones).

2. Has anyone tried turning the eggs into the ice key with an image mod. or vice versa? could be interesting.

3. I always figured the way to get the ice key was to make Wozza less scared of you.

4. Isn't it interesting how Blackeye the Pirate gives you dubloons, and the glitchy seagull song is called Shopping Around Town? Last I checked dubloons were a pirates form of currency.

DemyGod 1st April 2006 04:56 PM

How do you listen to Shopping Around Town?

krueger14 1st April 2006 05:33 PM

It is on the Jukebox,

but i dont hear it in the actual game anywhere

Benjo Koolzooie 1st April 2006 07:32 PM

Doesn't "Shopping Around Town" feature when you are shopping in the Emporium??

DemyGod 1st April 2006 10:50 PM

How would I listen to it if it isnt in the game haha. Anyone have a mp3 of it?

hatrickpatrick 1st April 2006 11:07 PM

Supposedly, these 2 codes help fix BT's code generator problem on the US NTSC version:

F1000302 0002
F100030E 0005

81092BE0 0804
81092be2 8000
81120200 03e0
81120202 0008

Enter them in as 2 seperate codes. I also find (In the pal version) that disabling the expansion pak from the game's use greatly improves the code generators performance in BT:

EE000000 0000

Benjo Koolzooie 1st April 2006 11:32 PM

Hatrick, have you seen the supposed "SNS discovered" forum on the main forum list....?

ssh 2nd April 2006 02:35 AM

You should try the SNS theory Hatrick. You would post screens for us wouldnt you? :)

Dricenticore 2nd April 2006 05:18 AM

man I hate fake cheats. its sonic in ssbm all over agains.

Theguyoverthere 2nd April 2006 05:21 AM

Well, back to the drawing board... Stupid April Fool's trick...

Anywho, thanks for the enable code I'll go hack BT and see if i come up with anything unusual. Any hacking tips for a newbie hacker?

EDIT: I have a tip for myself, never try to hack Banjo-TOoie as it always freezes with or without enable codes :)

Yeah, it didn't make it not freeze, cause it froze on start up and i typed it in right. O well.

dmoss 2nd April 2006 06:03 AM

Oh...TGoT? You had the 2000th post. Congrats!

-Daniel, :banjo

Theguyoverthere 2nd April 2006 07:10 AM

Well, you had the 2000th REPLY (not including the topic) :)
What's funny is that I was waiting for the counter to hit 2000 and congradulate them but I didn't realize it was me :)

Benjo Koolzooie 2nd April 2006 08:47 AM

I'll get the 3000th, you see if I don't. :P

hatrickpatrick 2nd April 2006 12:45 PM

Firstly, I'll try that SnS method but I've a feeling it might be an April Fool's trick... If not, they weren't very clever releasing it on April 1 :D

I'll need to get a decent memory card though

EDIT: Ok nvm, it WAS an AF prank. I strongly suspect that the Banjo DS thing is as well but lets not jump to conclusions...

Benjo Koolzooie 2nd April 2006 01:49 PM

Yes. I suspect it (Banjo DS) is a prank too, as I can't see Rare releasing BK aware of the SNS fiasco. Unless they were willing to make a link, or remove the items.

ssh 2nd April 2006 04:11 PM

Oh well.....seriously, I've lost all faith in SNS. It must have been found by now if it was still in the game. But it took years to find Bottles Revenge and the SNS codes, so it could possibly be there...

qwertybub3 2nd April 2006 06:24 PM

The only way to find SNS is with lots of testing. Testing found out that "The Method" yesterday was fake before anyone could.

Soulreaper41392 2nd April 2006 06:31 PM

So I was playing Tooie yesterday ( my first time really playing it )
and I ame across the silo system. So can someone explain briefly what the whole 'secret silos' are? I saw some when I was playing someone else's file there were some ones that were flat, are they the secret ones?

The Jinjo Jinjo 2nd April 2006 07:03 PM

The Silos just help you move around instead of you having to walk, like couldrons in BK. I'm not sure what you mean by flat though, enlighten us?

Soulreaper41392 2nd April 2006 07:29 PM

You know how the normal silos have a dome thing on them that opens up? Instead of having a dome, they just had a flat door on the top. what are they?

I know how the normal silos work, I just want to know about the 'secret' silo things that you all keep talking about.
