Dan 1st May 2009 02:15 AM

im pretty sure its something as solo kazooie since banjo was always in charge. control of kazooie is a new feature in banjo tooie (though after 10 years, its odd to look at it as new). but it cant be missable, so it has to be something that someone who has entirely completed the game can do as solo kazooie.(such as no boss fights as just kazooie, if thats even possible).

So what are some major things?

Coolboyman 1st May 2009 02:16 AM

HEROIC FAILURE FOUND!!!

I was facing chilly billi, and I knew I wasnt gonna beat my best time. So what I did was get shot by Billi's fireballs, jumped onto the cannon, jumped into the lava and got pushed back, then jumped off the cliff and died.

It maybe be based on how many times you die during a boss, I dunno. But it is caused by death.

Ice Mario 1st May 2009 02:22 AM

NOW WHO'S BOSS is "total personal best on bosses less than x". Now to find what the value is. Probably 20mins. 15 might be cutting it fine :)

All found :(

I'm a little bit above 16 minutes now, I'll try to get below 16 that and if it doesn't happen, it might be 15.

Dan 1st May 2009 02:24 AM

Ice eggs Can finish old king coal in like 15 seconds, but im sure you knew that =\.

Pikminpicker 1st May 2009 02:25 AM

Oh this is great! But have you tested it Ice Mario?

pokemega32 1st May 2009 02:26 AM

Wait, so it's beating all the bosses with a combined time of 15 minutes?

BK3fan 1st May 2009 02:30 AM

I'm really confused. Are these achievements? How do they relate to SnS 2?

Bottles98 1st May 2009 02:33 AM

@BK3fan: When you fulfill one of the requirements (like collecting one of the new eggs or changing into all of the transformations at least once) you get a "S'N'S2" popup and it is added to your Stop 'n' Swop II menu with a name and icon.

Theyre not achievements in the sense they get you gamerscore, Theyre goals you "achieve" to get SNS things, I dont understand what though, so far we have seen 3 physical items (eggs, in gold silver and bronze) and 7 Symbols (which may be for nuts and bolts items? god knows honestly, they were hints to unlock the items somehow.. I dont get how those last 2 relate at all though)

Ice Mario 1st May 2009 02:35 AM

It's 15 minutes.

BK3fan 1st May 2009 02:36 AM

Oh, I see; thanks. But I thought you got the gold, silver, and bronze from the game carts.

Dan 1st May 2009 02:36 AM

Then so begins the quest to finding out all the best ways to finish off a boss D:

You do get them from cartriges, thats how you "achieve" them lol

Lol, I think combined. ;)

"Who's boss now" sounds like a really hard achievement! :O

Coolboyman 1st May 2009 03:05 AM

I was just gonna post that it's 15 minutes, but then I saw that you already found it out. Anyway my time is 15:38 now. Here are my times for all the bosses:

Klungo 1: 21.60
Klungo 2: 16.70
Klungo 3: 20.70
Targitzan: 46.70
Old King Coal: 8:60
Mr Patch: 1:41.80
Lord Woo Fak Fak: 1:40.50
Terry: 39.50
Weldar: 1:39.00
Chilly Willy: 55.40
Chilli Billi: 36.50
Minjy Jongo: 33.60
Hag 1: 6:02.10

If anyone has some super secret tips they'd like to share, this would be the time. I have to shave off at least 39 seconds.

Indeed... I'm number 1 on bosses and I still don't have it. Looks like theres more of a point to the timer than leaderboards.

TheDarkFalcon 1st May 2009 03:12 AM

I'm a little confused. Wouldn't these SNSII "achivements" only be unlocked through the single player? Since fighting all of the bosses again is in Replays, and not in any of your files, how does getting it through replays give the SNSII award to your main file. And more importantly, how would you get it to the other 2 files?

Woah, someone quoted me in their sig? Thought I was relatively unknown around here. Lol, thanks drumbum007!

Ice Mario 1st May 2009 03:16 AM

It doesn't need to be on your main file. When the other games check, they will just be checking a certain location in the save.

I have no hints but, I say try to shave the 39 off from Weldar, LWFF and Mr. Patch.

This means that it is either gained by:

1. Dying a certain number of times

2. Dying a particular way

3. Dying atleast once for every boss. (Though, I find it hard to believe that Coolboyman would lose to Old King Coal :p)

I think you could shave off more time on the bolded... especially on Old King Coal. You did Old King Coal longer than Hag 1, and shouldn't Chilli Willy and Chilli Billi be about the same times?

Oh god.....Not only is this Stop 'n' Swop 2

We now have Canary Mary 2  *insert scary music here* :O

Edit to Pikmanpicker: No, Hag 1's time is 6:02.10 while Old King Coal is 0:08.60 meaning it took him 6 minutes to defeat Hag 1, and 8 seconds to defeat King Coal. :)

Coolboyman 1st May 2009 04:02 AM

I did it! I re-faught grunty and did 2 minutes better!

Total Time 13:46.60

I now have all seven SNS things!

From what Ice and Cool said right now. Wait another 8 years?

Ice Mario 1st May 2009 04:17 AM

Congrats!

Now all we need to do is to narrow down what causes Heroic Failure. I initially thought there might be if you kill someone whilst losing your last health. I depleted all but 1 honeycomb and then flew in the air and beak bombed a baddy, killing him and killing me, but nothing! That would be the perfect heroic failure :(

oojazzoo 1st May 2009 05:02 AM

Someone should come up with a list of them all for people who dont want to read through this thread. :P

Dan 1st May 2009 05:03 AM

Hmm, Well, maybe it has to do with failing every possible way? like the chili bili thing,

also, someone said chilly willy and billy should have similar times, one has 2x as much hp as the other.

Pearcinator 1st May 2009 05:25 AM

How do u know if its ALL the bosses in under 15 mins?

Could it possibly be beat Grunty in under 5 mins?

I ask this because i couldnt possibly beat all the bosses in under 15 mins...im too crap at the shooting.

We don't, not yet atleast.

Though, just because something seems impossible doesn't mean that it's illogical. See Canary Mary for instance. This achievement, this part of Stop 'n' Swop 2 IS the next Canary Mary.

Dan 1st May 2009 05:36 AM

Whats the big deal about canary mary? i got both those jiggies and cheato pages on my first try and i was only 7 years old lol

It all depends on your approach.

If I'm right, Canary Mary uses the Rubber-Band Al in the sense that, if you go fast, she'll match that, and stay with it.

To beat her, you simply go at a slow pace for most of the race, it's fairly simple. :)

However, many people try to rapidly push the A button, which only causes Canary Mary to bounce back at the fastest speed Banjo went, making it impossible to beat her. :-/

There are some gifted players who can reach and maintain a fast enough speed to defeat Canary Mary, and you might very well be one of them. So I congratulate you, however many people do not have this ability, and defeat her via implementation of the Rubber-Band Al,

tl;dr: Depending on your approach, she isn't very hard :D

But alas, this is off-topic. My apologies. :(

Dan 1st May 2009 05:44 AM

Tis ok :D i forgive you. And if it helps, i just Alternate tapped it index middle back and fourth... you can very easily get a good 11 taps per second that way o_O?.. technique i learned from digimon rumble arena :D... BUT ON TOPIK.. with the whole boss rush and grunty under 5 minutes...

IF YOU CAN BEAT HAG 1 IN UNDER 5 MINUTES O_O.. you can do the thing in under 15.. i mean that fight alone is a 3rd of the time..

Dan 1st May 2009 06:00 AM

not really on topic, but still on thread, Why do banjo pl's post say something like "thats a good idea" or just something short, and then the following post is "no one cares what you think, keep your ideas to yourself" and what not.. o.O?

This is n64 we are talking about, People have used fierce diety, on a horse, in clocktown.

Nothing would surprise me at this point. Hell the eggs could have been used on donkey kong and it wouldnt be weird
