(NEW!) Beta TTC/Dream Tunes
TTC beta is up: http://grantkirkhope.com/beta.html
--- Small, TTC Update: The original TTC song has been found (Grant lost it) in the Banjo-Tooie folder... weird!? We can expect to hear it soon. :) - What was it doing in the BT folder though... Dream Update: http://grantkirkhope.com/dream.html The Dream tunes have come! Fantastic! --- Original thread below --- I sent many emails to Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie's musician) asking him to upload beta Banjo-Kazooie/Dream music (namely the beta TTC tune) and he will do it very soon. http://grantkirkhope.com/grantblog/ Read his blog for more details. :D It would seem that Dream music will come very soon but the beta TTC tune was too hard to track down... but maybe he will find it some day. I knew he would do this months ago but didn't post about it as I was going to wait until he actually uploaded them... but it seems they will come any day now. Have fun listening to the beta music! P.S. Grant told me that Edison's theme turned into Viva Pinata's day 2 theme and Captain Blackeye's boat (The Mudplugger) turned into Donkey Kong 64's shipwreck theme. I wonder if these tunes would be uploaded to his site... o-O He also told me that he wrote 107 tunes for dream (yes, 107!)... if only he could upload them all... P.P.S. If you don't know, Dream was a very early version of Banjo-Kazooie... the main character was a young boy named Edison and the main villain was a pirate named Captain Blackeye (he shows up as a cameo at Jolly's in Banjo-Tooie). You should find out more about Dream if you don't know enough already. |
I can't find any beta music. :-/

-sigh-
readb4upost I can't wait, I do recall you saying he said he would, but I forgot :p |
This is awesome. Grant is the man.
|
He is indeed. I'm excited to hear them, it's like christmas. :D
Since Grant confirmed he reuses unused tunes, I wonder if we will hear music that sounds familiar to other games. I have a strong hunch we will hear something that sounds like DK64 and Zelda. DK64 because Grant stated he used some songs from Dream in DK64 and Zelda because Viva Pinata's day 2 theme (Edison's theme) does sound reminiscent to the Zelda games... and Grant said he liked Zelda's music before. |
Haha the Viva PiƱata music (in particular the one that I supposed now is unofficially dubbed "Edison's Theme") always reminded me of the music from "Babar".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UFIeHBvDpA But indeed, I am very excited about this! It's like "The Beatles Anthology" being released and you got to hear all of the rough versions of lovable tunes and see what turned into what and so forth. Would be great if Grant decided to add some descriptions and backstory to what the tunes started out as. |
Grant may add a short description to the tunes as he did for the beta BK:N&B tune.
And I do hear a resemblance in 'Edison's theme' and 'Babar'. |
So awesome, Grant Kirkhope is awesome I barely know him but he's awesome!
Awesome! |
We're in need of a Grant Kirkhope appreciation day!
Grant is my favourite musician of all time. |
I approve of a Grant Kirkhope appreciation day. So many people on these forums love him anyway so why not!
|
Three days, still nothing...
|
He's almost ready! He just needs to finish fighting with FMOD.
|
Oh god, the suspense is killing me!
|
Come on Grant!
