Exactly! Tooie levels feel like Mario levels without the coins. And I think I'd be a lot less likely to get lost in Terrydactyl Land if I could see all the notes I hadn't collected yet. It doesn't have to be 100 per level! But the way Tooie did it, they may as well have removed notes all together. The treble clef was the only collectible that felt like it was placed deliberately and served a purpose.
