Damn I was wondering why seeing "Monek" was making me think of something and that was it
Enjoy DKR, recently played the DS version and forgot about the weird cutscenes at the beginning that they added |

Re: Your DKR DS review: the touch screen start boost mechanics were so bad. I liked the touch screen coin collecting game because it was a mode specifically built for touch screen (though I wish the camera either turned automatically or had a smoother way than dragging it with the touch screen), but having to touch and then jump back to holding the DS to boost.. how did that get through play testing?

Anyone else playing Back 4 Blood? Playing with randoms/waiting to continue my campaign really sucks, some of these are clearly brain dead children who have never played Left 4 Dead or anything similar...
Also Nick All Stars on Xbox. Trying to play a game online = instant crash to home, which still hasn't been fixed after 10+ days unfortunately. Otherwise I've had a lot of fun destroying the bots, albeit some are so impossible on level 9 that it's not even fun.

DKR DS: Yeah, David Wise's new arrangements to fit the DS were great.

I don't have those . Although maybe I can convince my gf's younger brother and dad to play. They only really play CoD though, so I doubt a team based game is gonna be their cup-o-tea.

I spent all last week at a friend's place, where we had a fully stocked N64 and PS1. We just shuffled to random things and had a great time.
Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring rules. I didn't play the fighting game, but the quest mode had a lot of cool design things about it. I love that there are shortcuts to different levels of the dungeon that are open from the start, but skill/stat check you. I also like the permadeath system. You have one chance to pick up the other person's belongings and bring them back to the hotel, otherwise your run is totally screwed. I like the tension that brings, even though I think it might work better with a longer dungeon and more chances. Think something like Yoshi's Story. Or maybe something else where you have a roster of unique characters like... The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne, which I'm convinced is the best game ever made. You can name all the Servbots! They refer to each other by name! Some of them carry little wrenches. You try to go rob a bank and they take you to an animal hospital. You send them in to go rob a house to get you money, and you see them run around and destroy this little home. They're adorable and I love them. It did get me thinking about combining the two concepts. We played a lot of Diddy Kong Racing jointventure, too. I don't think there's much new to say about that game. It still rules! My friend had never even heard of LSD: The Dream Emulator, and so was very confused when me and her friend went "YOOOOOO" when we landed on it. She went in totally blind and loved it. It led me to read more on LSD, where I learned that the developer got the idea while being bad at racing games, which was appropriate since the few games we played before it were some of the worse NASCAR games. NASCAR Thunder 2004 for PS1 is an almost irredeemable game, probably because it was a licensed PS1 game released in 2003 with a PS2 counterpart. But it does have a rival and ally system that I think is pretty novel for the time. It was fun to turn around on the track and make everyone into a rival very very quickly. I know there are good NASCAR games that gen, but Thunder 2004 for the PS1 isn't one of those

Finally managed to kill Hades in Hades. It took me twenty attempts. I did it with Varatha and some boons from Aphrodite and Ares (the one that inflicts Weak when you dash and Doom when you attack; I forget what they're called). I felt like a certified Pro Gamer.
Now to do it nine more times!
